I recently bought a 7' barbox. It now needs new felt and i think i will put 760 simonis on it. I need to get new cushions for it also... what brand of k-66 rails would you recommend? Would you recommend different cloth?

why in the world would you put 760 on a bar table? way too fast. try 860. and go with ridgeback rails. you cant go wrong with that!

Cloth

Thats what I did 860 and Ridgeback rails . Made my valley play like a new table , Good Luck . Rob:thumbup:

Agree 100%. 760 would be insane on a bar box. I personally think it's too fast for a 9', unless you have micro pockets and play lots of 14.1. Even then, I think 860 is so much more or a standard, and won't ruin you for when you play other places.

Don't know how far back they go as far as the various years but i think Valley sells update kits so that you can use the new 5 bolt rails as opposed to the 3's. Think they quit using wingnuts on the new ones. The Ridgeback guy may even have what he needs to send you rails with the holes drilled for the change.

I just recovered one of my 7 foot valleys with Championship Tour Edition. I also got some new rails from crystal leisure for around $100. The speed of the cloth and rails match perfect . Cant go wrong, saved about $150 by not getting Simonis cloth and Valley mfg rails.

I have simonis 760 on my 7' table and while it does play fast i wouldn't say that it plays too terribly so. I'm really in love with the action i can generate on it and the control that comes with it. Yes, it is fast, but it isn't even close to as fast as some of the tables I've played on.

I'm wondering if your cloth is not stretched very tight or maybe it is humid where your table is. Tight 760 with good rails and low humidity should play super fast on a 7' Valley. Johnnyt

Well there are a few circumstances i should mention. The table is a shelti and the cloth is stretched pretty tightly. Also, I live in Michigan so there is generally a bit of humidity to deal with. As for being good at bunting balls, I am getting better! the thing is I developed my stroke on slow cloth which helped me develop a strong stroke when it's needed, But a lot of the tournaments I've been going to have really fast cloth that i wasn't use to, which is the reason i got the 760 in the first place.
