These pics came from Alvin Nelsons Facebook. He just uploaded these pics. Looks like 4 pieces of 5x10 slate. Cant wait to see these babies assembled and played on!
If you look close at the left corner pocket you can see the pockets are cut. I cant imagine how much that slate weighs!
slate = 168 pounds per cubic foot
60 x 120 x 1 = 7200 cubic inch
7200/(12x12X12) = 4.1666.... cubic feet
168 x 4.1666.... = 700 lbs.
The outside dimensions are probably a little bigger than 5'x10' and you'd have to subtract the pocket cutouts, but that has to be pretty close.
Actually, there are pocket cuts, and it looks like they are 1 peice slate. Sounds like a great time to retire from moving tables:smile:
Figure again at 1 3/16"ths thickThe normal 9ft one piece slate weighs 618lbs.
There's 4 slates sitting there in that crate, 30mm (1 3/16") thick. Weight is going to be around 1,000lbs each. The 5'x10's are gong to be the ProAm version with drop pockets instead of the ball return, I told everyone this table was in the makings![]()
are these going to be a limited edition table?
Yeah, I think your post went up at the same time as mine or I would have deferred to your experience. When I multiply 700 x 1 3/16" I get 831 pounds.
I've played on the 9 footer you got for ITGUY, plays awful nice.
Steve.<== would love a diamond, but happy to at least have a Peter Vitalli.
Yes, if I have any say so.
How limited? lol I mean this won't just be a table that someone that uses a Szamboti for a break stick can buy right? Heck I'd like to buy one.

They'll be for sale, but most will have the 3 piece slate instead of the one piece. But, I have a way of putting a three piece slate back together again just like it's a one piece slate, which will be available for this size table.
