5x10s

Actually, there are pocket cuts, and it looks like they are 1 peice slate. Sounds like a great time to retire from moving tables:smile:

If you look close at the left corner pocket you can see the pockets are cut. I cant imagine how much that slate weighs!

slate = 168 pounds per cubic foot
60 x 120 x 1 = 7200 cubic inch
7200/(12x12X12) = 4.1666.... cubic feet
168 x 4.1666.... = 700 lbs.

The outside dimensions are probably a little bigger than 5'x10' and you'd have to subtract the pocket cutouts, but that has to be pretty close.

There's 4 slates sitting there in that crate, 30mm (1 3/16") thick. Weight is going to be around 1,000lbs each. The 5'x10's are gong to be the ProAm version with drop pockets instead of the ball return, I told everyone this table was in the makings:D

Figure again at 1 3/16"ths thick;) The normal 9ft one piece slate weighs 618lbs.

Yeah, I think your post went up at the same time as mine or I would have deferred to your experience. When I multiply 700 x 1 3/16" I get 831 pounds.
I've played on the 9 footer you got for ITGUY, plays awful nice.
Steve.<== would love a diamond, but happy to at least have a Peter Vitalli.

Yep, won't be moving any of those for sure. If someone buys a 9 ft Diamond do they get to keep the dolly too? I've seen some posts by people who say they have them. Or, can you purchase them from Diamond? I have a freind who has a 9ft Smart Table that he might need to move and it's in a real tough spot.

are these going to be a limited edition table?

Slate actually varies quite a bit in density. I've helped install quite a few tables and one that I sold was only a 7 footer from and off brand but I'll be damed if that those slates weren't heavier than most of the 8 footers I did. They were all 1" thick as well. Bottom line is they are going to be really freaking heavy.

How limited? lol I mean this won't just be a table that someone that uses a Szamboti for a break stick can buy right? Heck I'd like to buy one.

They'll be for sale, but most will have the 3 piece slate instead of the one piece. But, I have a way of putting a three piece slate back together again just like it's a one piece slate, which will be available for this size table.

If Diamond has these for sale in about 5 years I will be getting one. I have some things to take care of in the interim, but I would love to get one in the future.

Watching the Shane vs Earl match on a 10 foot table was absolutely fantastic. I am eagerly awaiting more matches on a 10 footer. The pros are just too good on a 9 foot table. The 10 foot table is a real challenge.
