Celebrity pool player for USO tour?

Well the tour is there if anyone steps up. I have no stake in this, and nothing to gain. This is more charity work on my plate, and right now my charity plate is overflowing. The USO is a great non profit that tries to help troops have a great time even though they are in the closest place to hell we have to offer...The fact that it is taking this long to find a celebrity to play pool with them is honestly a dishonor to our soldiers.

I hope that someone steps up, and goes to entertain the troops. Pool is very lucky to have a chance like this. Where is the media coverage...

I am disgraced that I live somewhere that our own people will not support the troops...

I don't want to mock your post, but if you got a few Playmates to tag along I'm sure Charlie Sheen would play pool with anybody, anywhere.

No by all means talking about this is what needs to happen. Like I said I am just floored that this is getting no coverage. IMO there has been no greater chance for pool to prove its value in over 50 years?

Im sorry but I do not know any celebrity's personally, but doing a little research on the net. I found that Max Eberle was trying to do a show with celebrity's and pool. http://www.mypooltv.com/CelebPool.htm

Maybe you could contact him and he might be able to assist you.

Oh, Joe Rogan plays pool and would probably draw a huge crowd. Dont know how MWR would feel about him as far as some of his previose skits and language, but we did fight for the freedom of speach and he exercises that pretty good...lol.

Another person to get in touch with would be Jeanette Lee. I know she has done USO trips oversea's for many years so she may know a few celebrity's to get in touch with, or even be willing to do one within the USA.

The last USO tour event was KISS... Do you remember their younger days?

Max Eberle was contacted months ago...No help so far. Joe Rogan would be a fit IMO. The USO wants names, then they do a background check on the "stars". They pick the talent I just bring them names. I would hope that Joe Rogan would make it I mean he is a very famous...Check USO.org to see what kind of celebrity's they have used over the years.
Here is something to keep in mind, trying your own fundraiser for the USO is different than this. This is an actual USO event. Pentagon clearance and all that... Sorry to report the bad news, but no one alive playing pool has ever done a USO tour event that included pool. Just to clear that up.

You are correct, I am wrong about Jeanette Lee and it being a USO tour. It was actually a tour sponsored by Armed Forces Entertainment and it covered numerouse bases overseas. The base with the picture of only about 30 people attending was actually Souda Bay Crete, and that is not exactly a big Navy base..

As far as KISS,,,actually I did see KISS in 1986 in concert without their makeup. Oh, then I met Gene Simmons and BS'd with him for about a half an hour in 2009 on the USS Nimitz (CVN-68).

Yes I do know what type of celebrity's the USO have volunteer, I have seen a few shows over my 22 year career.

I guess I really missed something because I thought you were looking at doing small handshake style events, not like the huge normal USO tour.

Also, I am unclear on what you are you looking for. Is it someone like Earl Strickland, or are you looking for Tom Cruise?

Earl is a Celebrity Pool Player, and Tom is a Celebrity able to play pool.

Jamison...That is simply not true. Jack White has done USO tours all over the world. In fact, when the returning POW's came back from Vietnam they were asked who they would like to have entertain them. They could have chosen anybody. Jack White was the unanimous choice. Jack considers it to be one his greatest honors, in a lifetime of performing for various Presidents, Kings and Queens. Get your facts straight my friend. The fact is that the GIANT majority of us here do not have relationships or contacts with famous television and movie celebrities. That does not mean we don't support the cause, nor that we would, at the drop of a hat, do anything we could, to give back to those who have given everything to protect our country and our way of life. God Bless our soldiers...bring them HOME!

Sorry Scott I was not aware of Jack White? He has such a awesome track record, why didn't they call him? I am also not aware of these events so I wouldn't be able to report on it...

Yes, sir it is a handshake tour. A meet and greet between celebrity's and soldiers. A much more intimate setting than a "huge normal USO tour". I am looking for a Tom Cruise type player. I mentioned Earl and Joe because they could produce a very funny show together, and I remember Joe Rogan saying he liked Earl and...etc. If you never ask the answer is always NO...

Celebrity that plays pool. I could build a show full of pool players in mins...I wish they would have asked me for that when they called me...
