I dno't know that the matters discussed are directly applicable to the Costco tables, but you should check out refeernces to tables from mfg: Golden West for an idea of the kind of issues one might face with cheapo brands.
I'd strongly suggest a major brand, used ...and a real pool table mechanic.
Thanks, I agree completely. I know what my preferences would be but don't know anything about the table he's asking about. It may even be contracted by Brunswick for all I know. I'm familiar with Brunswick, Diamond, etc., but never heard of this one.

it says it is slate, but I doubt it is backed.....even then for $2000 ....you can get a decent used gold crown for $400-$800 on ebay or craigslist ...and have a far superior table. spend the extra $1000 to have a pro extend the subrails put new rubber and simonis on and you are sitting pretty ....

I seen that ad. All that crap is for the people that aren't serious about pool. They are rec players and want something for their "man" room. The problem is they may later become addicted to pool and long for a better quality table. Better to look for a quality brand that someone wants to unload.
