Pool playing in daytime

I've noticed that when you walk into the pool room I mostly play in during the afternoon there is usually no one there except for a few hanging out at the bar.

The regulars don't come in until after dark. After 7:00, 8:00, or 9:00, the players start to straggle in.

Are there any pool rooms out there where you see a lot of players hanging out during the daytime?

There are a few at the local pool hall, but they are what we call the old-timers. They usually start showing up around noon and leave before the young whipper-snappers show up.

Don't get me wrong, these guys are in their 60s to 80s and can still lay the smack down on the table.

The place I played in in NY for almost 25 years opened at 10 am or 11 am. The regulars would drift in anytime after opening and most would stay until around 5 or 6 pm. After 7 or 8 pm it was mostly only kids and beginners. A few regulars might stay until closing, midnight at that time, but only if they were gambling heavy.

We have a regular group of guys (10-20) that show up in the afternoon. Most of them are the "cheap" players, retirees etc.. The "name" players generally don't come in until 7 PM or after.

In our active retirement community the four Gold Crowns have four guys at each table from 12:30 until 2:30 Monday through Friady. After 7:00 PM there are perhaps me and two orr three others. After ten PM there is no one.

And we don't pay for table time.

where i play, its the exact opposite. we have all the players come in at open and stay til 6 and at night all the party animals and college kids come in. there is usually a few players waiting for action, but i like it best from open to 6, thats when all the so called old timers help me with my game and help me spend the cash in my wallet.

In Buffalo's Billiards the Worlds Pool Hall, there are people there in the day time,
