As for the other, I'd honestly like to know how you reconcile your own quality of work and customer service with what you have just defended. You are questioning the maturity of the users - part of being an adult is accepting and understanding the consequences of your actions.

Lately, there have been several posts that have dealt with the lack of morals surrounding some players. Sadly, this is nothing new. I've been carjacked at gun-point before, but I haven't been "Enron'd". I'd like to think that I have been fortunate in those regards. Maybe the air-barrel is an "art form", I really wouldn't know. But my thoughts wander ... what is money? What's happiness? What's self-worth actually worth? Who is John Galt?

We could use a Francisco or Wyatt.. not another Kinnan or Boyle.

Real adults look at the facts and both sides of the story, not just what others who have no idea what they're talking about...rant about, then take sides. Real adults take the blame for what they've done and punishment if included, then change what they've done for the better, and go on to try and improve their life for the better. Real adults keep their noses out of OTHER people pasts and businesses if it don't pertain to them.

Actually in the thousands of people that would get scammed there are going to be some of those people, the statistics would pretty much demand it. There is probably a father in their somewhere that had no healthcare due to a low paying job and no benefits and his child got sick and needed surgery or they would die, and that father lost $180 on a scam, did the child live, did the family rebound from their woes, did the $180 end up costing that family dearly?

This message board is full of folks who glorify "the hustle". Misleading someone about your playing ability in order to take their money while gambling. The term "robbing them" is applied, favorably. Taking advantage of them by misleading them. Taking advantage of the marks lack of self control.

How many of those people lives have been ruined or made even more miserable by a hustler taking their last $180? How many of their kids didn't get a meal? Or how many of those families ended up on the streets?

Are the two situations comparable, not really. Not even remotely, I suppose. But to me, the message is the same. Taking advantage of someone by misleading them is, well, taking advantage of someone. There really isn't any other way to spin it.

Let's not forget how many people despise and hate Kevin Trudeau, a man who poured literally MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars into pool. The common reason stated for this disdain and hatred of Kevin Trudeau was the way he made his money.

Today, 5 years after the IPT folds, there are still many who continue to think Kevin's contribution to pool was nothing worthy. I have trouble comprehending this, considering here is a man who did literally donate millions of dollars to try to effect a change for the better, to including gifting every single BCA's Hall of Famer that attended the first IPT event in December 2005 a gift of $30,000 and a head start (a bye) in the million-dollar tournament, so they could win more money.

Some of those BCA Hall of Famers hadn't hit a ball for 20-plus years, and they came to Orlando to get Kevin Trudeau's free gift of $30,000 just for showing up.

Bustamante told me personally that his third-place payout at that Orlando IPT event was the most money he's ever pocketed at a pool tournament, bar none. I think it was about $80,000, if memory serves me correct.

IMO, Kevin Trudeau did, in fact, try to do something postive for pool, yet his name is still trashed on pool forums.

And let me clarify something.... I'm not anti-gambling. I'm against people misleading other people about how well they play, and how that whole scam gets glorified here.

If people know how each other plays and wanna gamble, that's cool. The pro's and known players make games, though perhaps not as regularly as they might like.

I guess I'm at a loss as to what do you actually "win" when you take advantage of someone that way? You didn't really prove that you were a better player. All you did was prove that you could scam the other guy better.

He has owned up to it and has admitted it. He could have very easily hid behind the keyboard and no one would have ever known about it. Besides that, he has done many good things for pool. I do not agree with some of the crap he posts up here and how he handles himself sometimes, but who am I to say.
