Oh and "Doc" there is a difference between knowing it all and being overbearing. When I made that quote I was being over bearing about my way of building cases and was basically saying that I can respect other methods even if I don't agree with them because people were using cases made with those methods without incurring problems. And I say this without looking it up because I am usually pretty good about remembering what I said and why I said it.

You took my quote out of context and the difference between you and me is that I can admit when I am wrong about something. When you want to attack someone using their quotes then you should link to the original so that people can judge for themselves.

You want to attack others and make your statements without anyone to challenge them. You took it as a personal attack when I said that CNC capability is actually inexpensive. Why? Because you were proven wrong?

Sorry to have burst your bubble and put up some facts against your assertion. Apparently it angered you enough to go digging for something, anything you thought you could use against me. Next time try some context and maybe you will get farther.

Fury uses CNC to make those points, or at least they say so themselves. Why do you say they don't? Are they dishonest on that matter? :confused:

Are you proposing one of them to be the non-CNC cue of the year? :)
 
Its really a shame that a thread where the OP asked for a specific gallery (meaning pictures) has degraded to this. I know JK and I know what he meant and what he asked to see. Instead the thread gets the bozo treatment.

You mean are they dishonestly claiming to use CNC when in fact they don't?

Please provide the quote where Fury says that they use CNC to make the points. I didn't find it on the website. Either they made a mistake or I did. If I did then I will happy to edit my posts and apologize for my error.

But if they do use CNC to make those wonderfully sharp points with sharp veneers isn't that great?

There is already a cue of the year thread and it's not this one.

In that thread I believe that the non-CNC decorated cue by Scott Gracio is leading the voting. I haven't looked but I bet it finishes in the top three.

Then I guess you're wrong. The cues I posted were all done without CNC decoration and made in 2011 as far as I know. That's what this thread is about is it not?

I believe that you can't be polishing your shaft as I hear it can't be found even with a stereoscopic microscope.
 
Apparently you don't know about micro-polishing. Do I have to do all your research for you?

I'm caught between the first one and the last one in that post. He does nice work for sure.

I think between the two I would say the first one personally. I mean, I really dig the dyed veneers in the last one but the natural ones in the first cue provide a kind of understated sophisticated kind of look. And that burl reminds me of my fathers old office....it's got an air about it.

Expensive is relative. In fact it's entirely possible to build a CNC these days for under $1000 and in some cases for under $500. These are units where the cutting is done using off the shelf dremels to hold the bits. The dremel is held in place with a bracket.

One only needs to look on YouTube to find dozens of videos on building DIY cnc setups. Some even double as laser cutters.

Ten years ago small units were $10,000 and up. Now you can spend $2k and get a pre-built CNC that is adequate for cue making.

Simple google search brings up plenty of resources for this DIY CNC

You know what I find funny is most people who trash CNC Machines, have never been in, worked in, or have a clue what CNC can, and can not do.

I recall many years ago when first out of the Marine Corps working in a machine shop, were we had Machine that Ran Off Computer Generated Tapes. These Tape we like an Inch Wide as long as a Reel of Movie Film with Tiny Holes Punched in the Parker that was code that produced parts.

These were very early version of the Modern CNC Machines, but them made it possible to increase production, with less scrap, and more precision parts.

Pool Cues are not hand made, and even the Guy Cutting Old House Cues, and Putting a Pin in to make a One Piece Cue, and Two Piece Cue need some machinery to do the job right, so the end product don't miss fit.
