???????????????????
I do for training!
Explain:
I play with 314-2 with ultraskin. Love it. Lot of confidence. But! Is too much forgiving!
So every now and than, I play some game( practice only) with my original maple shaft, to straighten my shoot! Same with some random bar cue, to get used to use less or no English for position!
After, when I get back to 314, life is easier! ;-)
My little secret!
Some time use to practice with breaking cue (phenolic) !!! Tough!! But useful!
My 2 cents.
Switching shafts or cues is one of the worst habits you can develop.
Some people claim they can play to the subtle differences, like use a certain shaft for certain heavy deflection shots. They're deluding themselves.
Pick one shaft and stick to it. Switching cripples your consistency, changing how you aim and where you hit the cue ball. It will only hurt you in the long run. In fact, if you care more about your performance than about equipment, don't buy a new cue or shaft every few years. Figure out what you like in a cue and then stick to it as long as possible. Make it an extension of your arm.
