The swastika symbol actually dates back thousands of years and has been used in many cultures. The one pictured on this cue is not the same as the one adopted by the Nazis; the Nazis used a counter-clockwise version (in terms of apparent direction of motion), where the one pictured here is clockwise. Nonetheless, it's pretty bold of the case maker to use this at all; high probability of misinterpretation.

Here is the Wikipedia article on the swastika; very likely more than you will ever want to know.

Not necessarily racist. The swastika is a symbol used in Buddhism and other ancient religions. The Nazi's just bastardized it.

Maybe the previous owner was Buddhist? To my untrained eyes, that appears to be a closed lotus plant underneath.

I have to check this out for myself.

The swastika may not be considered a "racist" symbol in some cultures, but it is in my culture.
If I saw someone walk into a pool room with that case he would either have to leave or remove the case, and I wouldn't hold back.
In that my father was injured in WWII during the Normandy invasion, and since I am an M.O.T, this is a problem for me.

The Delta Sports people are a bunch of ****ing moron's for posting that case, and I will NEVER buy anything from them at any price.
Delta Sports can take their ridiculous so-called 50% AZ discount and shove it sideways.

all the neo-Nazi pool players i know totally want that case just to offend people in the poolhall.....

.....they just don't have any neo-Nazi gold to buy it

I had known that the swastika has been a symbol of many cultures and has many different meanings.

However, it has the most significant meaning in that the Nazi party adopted it as their symbol.

When I see a swastika, it is a remembrance of concentration camps and the horrid things they did to the inhabitants.

I don't care whether its frontwards or back wards, its still a swastika to me.

Someone should email Delta thru EBay and ask them what the purpose was
for using it as a design on this case. I also would like to know what it means to pair it with a Lotus flower.

I wouldn't put a cue in this case if they paid me.

If it is a Lotus flower (I am not 100% sure it is), then the case would certainly be marketed towards a Buddhist client. The Lotus flower is a very important symbol in Buddhism. The different colors of the flower refer to different meanings.

I think the Buddhists might disagree with you.

If Delta is made in the Far East, there's your answer. Might as well have an elephant symbol up there, too. The swastika symbol is still prominent today, not just in ancient times.

That doesn't make things any easier or less offensive.

Freddie <~~~ thinks the marketing folks at Delta could have done a little more marketing research

Even though it is a Wikipedia response you might try opening your minds a bit and read this = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhist_symbolism
Then, all you aging hippies that remember and maybe still use the "peace" sign might like to read this = While it appears reasonable that the modern day peace symbol comes from Gerald Holtom, this logic fails to address the fact that the symbol has been used for evil both in modern times and for thousands of years.

This same symbol was used by Hitler's 3rd Panzer Division from 1941 to 1945. The image on the left is the regimental 3rd Panzer Division symbol. Soviet, Polish, and Hungarian citizens, having suffered from the Nazi massacres, undoubtedly struggled with Holtom’s use of the symbol as a thoughtful way to communicate peace. The symbol can also be found on some of Hitler's SS soldiers' tombstones.8

So, different "Cultures" have different ideas about different symbols. The thing to remember is that they are symbols with varied histories. You can spend your life hating symbols or spend you life hating people that spent their lives hating people and then teach your children to hate people and...
