Cue Joint Size Question

Sounds plausible to me.

BTW, is that a Colt 1911 in your avatar?

Yea, but it is not mine. It is a cool picture I found on the net, I have one though. I should
take some pictures of my guns and stage them as cool as that one. I have a mint Colt Diamondback and a Beretta 92 FS. but the gun I carry is a, (I have a carry permit) 44 special that has been ported.

I can only imagine the noise and flash from a ported 44.

I went to Mcfadden and Dale one time looking for a 3/8 10 screw.
The manager had no clue it even existed.

.84 to .87

i was building a few cues for doc down fla an he wanted skinney butts , so using metal pins i made a few cues .83-.84 at the joint, but started using a bit larger sizes when i went to the bigger wood pin.
trying a few different sizes i have found i really like the .87 joint on a 57 1/2 inch cue. i also like a straight .87 taper for a inch or so near the back of the shaft a bit more meat for a bit more solid hit.
these sizes are not etched in stone, it really depends on the woods i am using and the hit i am trying to get.
