Whats the best spray on finish?

Finish

If there was a best one then everyone would be using the same one, but people use PPG dupont, sikkens, super glue and many others. You have to use what works best for you. It helps if you can buy from a local supplier so if you have problems you can get help.

I agree with you Bill.

I know NOTHING about wood or cuemaking, but I have read on here many times about Superglue being used as a finish on cues.

What are the pros/cons of using this? Is it easier, cheaper, better, or what?

Would Superglue be better to finish an old Titlist cue with during conversion?

Appreciate any comments on the subject.

I'll be a quick as I can.

Be sure to search each type in wood working sites, forums, guitar builders, pen makers, etc. There are lots of instructions out there.

Super glue - also known as CA
Hard and easy finish - fumes are bad.. pen turners use it too.

Automotive -
Great finish but needs big outlay for guns and booth - very toxic

Lacquer - easy and nice looking - not so durable as others

Water based urethane - several companies make it...
easy to use - can be brushed - no odor - non toxic - I use ceramithane

Krylon UV spray cans - easy to use - can be a nice finish for DIY
looked down on as an unprofessional method.

If you know NOTHING about cuemaking, let me IMPLORE you not to make your first experiment a Titlist conversion!!

Practice on some broken house cues and avoid tears:speechless::crying:

LOL! Thanks for your concern, but no need to worry. :)

I am having one converted by a knowledgeable cuemaker, but I just saw this post and thought I would ask for my own general knowledge before I talked to him next.
