I was talking with Timi telling him about the color of the alternating green rings and that it was the same green as in an old Titlist he sold me years ago with more black and green rings though. Then mentioned the ringwork at the joint was like the older low end Customs and must have built as a present or something.
He replied, "Yah, that Cue was something special."
I mentioned the bumper and he described it to me saying, "That was an old Cats House Cue!". I replied,"It is the best hitting TS sneakie I have ever owned". No wounder. Then he said that black phenolic was some hard stuff!
This is truely a amazing find. I have been looking for a monster TS sneakie. The rarest of builds just fell out of the sky. I got lucky.

what material is it ??

Materials

Lennin and phenolic and plastic. Even the shaft wood if from Cats. Bet I am spelling it wrong.
The construction would not be rare on a Custom build. But for a sneakie just too expensive. This Cue would have cost more than a veneer Cue at the time.

Saw it on Ebay and I thought about getting it but was reluctant as I wasnt sure if it was all original. It just didnt look right to me. Nice cue. And if Tim remembers it, then I guess it is original. Nice sneaky.
 
Kickin'Chicken sold this to me directly.

I recoginesed the work pretty much right away. I did not use ebay. This is a picture borrowed from his listing here.
He has a few more sneakies and a six point Ivory joint Veneer Cue for sale I believe.

Very unique TS.

Makes the common TS sneaky pale in comparison. A lot of those were made by Frey anyway and couldn't be remembered by anybody, just pure sneaky cues.

I really dig that cue. Congrats. :thumbup:
 
Well I guess there are several of these out there then. I saw an identical cue sell on EBay no more than 2 months ago. I guess the guy you got it from could have gotten it from there. Dont know. Nice sneaky.
 
I'm generally watching around 150 cues and cases at a time on Ebay. More or less to understand the market there and I have fun researching them.

I do seem to remember a TS cue like that. Don't know if it was exact but it had green rings.
 
It doesn't matter if it was EBay, local swap meet or yard sale. Bottom line it is a nice sneaky. To say a cue came off eBay isn't a derrogatory comment. Again, nice sneaky. 2 reasons I didn't get the one on there. Originality and I don't do sneakies. I have taken them in on trade but never bought one. I remember Mike telling me they were meant to be used until they were worn out and thrown away. But this one I wouldn't put in that category. Congrats.
 
TS sneakies

If they have anything but a 1/2 inck black collar at the joint they have been altered. That was how they were built.
This Cue however is rare. The black phenolic and green rings with that old goof ball bumper is easy to spot as something Timi did. The rings too are a dead giveaway. They can be initated but not like this.
Only a very few people can look at this Cue and know. One is Mike Webb. One is Timi. And then there is me. I knew it. But also knew whom to ask.
I didn't ask until after I owned the Cue. I was too sure. I just recognise Timi's work. Many think they can. Most have no shot at it.
It makes me look like I am playing with a Viking! Someone asked me if it was a Viking when I was playing. How do you not love that!

It was on ebay probably. I would only buy Ebay Cues from AZ members. But in this case it was a direct deal with Kickin'Chicken. Man he has one sweet Birdseye Cue for sale.

Hello again

Timi wanted me to know that the old man's name that made the house Cue was spelled Katz. Kind of laughed with me about it.
Palmer bought Katz shaft blanks by the case fo their factory as did top builders of that time.
