80s mcdermott pool cue

Did you post the wrong pics? That's a modern McDermott.

EDIT: Sorry for the confusion, yes, the forearm is something like 25 years old. Cue made around 2007 I think?

That's ebony points in tulipwood, steel half joint. They are great shooting cues.

Don't remember the model on this one but I think they are the P series? Cool cue.

Good luck with your sale.

this is not the cues from 2007 i know what your talking about . those 1 s have the year on them this is a hand made cue by order .

Chopdoc is correct. This is not a 1980's McDermott cue. The fore-arm is a full splice that was found at the factory in storage from the 80's but the cues were mated with modern McDermott ring work and lower butt sections with the McDermott logo stamped... not engraved.

The more pertinent question is, How much do you really want for it?

Looks to me like one of the cues Cornerstone had made up a few years ago,I had one of them I got from Bill and it was one of the top 5 best playing cues I have had,,Good luck with your sale it is a very nice cue.

I apologize if I came off the wrong way. The listing is labeled 80's mcdermott pool cue which is what made me look at the post. It was slightly mis-leading that's all.

Good luck with your sale and you have a PM in your inbox.

80's McDermott

Nice cue there, but, this is what I think of in an 80's McDermott

these cues were from 30 year old parts made by jim himself and left at the factory when he sold it. i personally found the parts and had them assembled and given a lifetime warrenty about 7 years ago,!!These are very rare and beautiful .. that is a dealer price to the public!

I've got one that's close . . .

Here's one I've got . . . I think it's a "custom" McDermott as well. Note that mine has ebony near the butt cap versus the coco or whatever on yours.

Both of these cues are very similar to the "classic" series that McDermott had out around 2005.

Mine has a slightly bigger diameter butt then most of the McD's I've played with over the years. This cue plays great and has that old school look . . . it truly is a classic IMO.

I've owned a lot of "nice" non-production cues, but owning a McD is a great way to get a LOT of cue for a little money . . . and I don't get nervous taking 'em to a pool hall.
