Pre War Ebony Titlist 3/8 10 pin Ivory joint. Was sold as a Greg K. but he has informed me it is not his. The work in this cue is very clean . Brown butt rubber.

Thank You,

The Cue was raffled off for $750.00.

The seller named the builder. It was built for him. I almost bought it directly from him to ask Timi and Mike to cut it up for the ebony front.
Research back about 4 years.

Nick,

This is either a difrent cue or the seller was dead wrong. I spoke to Greg after he looked at pictures of this cue and stated it was not built by him, period. I am also confused about why you would put a price from a 3yr old thread in my help ID thread. Seems in bad taste to me.

Mike

100% not a Greg Kucharski.

Here are pics of the shafts, phenolic inserts. Yes the shaft is being held up by Mardi Gras Beads... Cajun engeneering at its best!!!

I know, confuses the heck out of me. Greg says he 100% did not make this cue. I sent a pm to MasterClass, waiting on reply.

Thank You for the help.

Actually it was 36 dollars the winner had two spots. But that doesn't matter one bit. Neither does what the seller said since the new owner asked the alleged maker and he said NO.

So now there is a mystery cue and a nice cue at that. I would focus on the pin and the pin center and see if you can find something similar. The joint blocks have been done by many cuemakers, so that makes it hard to determine.

Thank You for the kind words. I have ruled out Greg K,BCM,Tascarella and Carmeli.

Is there anyone that offers a cue id service for a fee?

Thanks
Mike

If you are looking to pay I would go to a pro.....meaning a cue dealer with a lot of experience. Identifying it would probably be part of an appraisal, but even then they may not positively identify it.

There are several that frequent the forums that really know enough to qualify as experts and deal in such matters.

This would be one example: http://www.classiccues.com/cues/index.htm

EDIT: Such an appraisal/identification will most likely require you putting it in their hands......shipping or otherwise getting it to the expert. end EDIT

It's not a plug, just an example.

I have never used the services of one of the current dealers so I could not advise you further. The only one I ever really dealt with, John Wright of Wright Cue Company, passed away years ago....great guy.

Thank You. I have sent Joe a pm. Will keep everyone informed. There is a lot of high quality craftmanship in this cue and I really want to know who made it.

As I told Mike, if I knew who it was I would have stated it here. IMHO the builder of this cue was a Gina fan possibly TAD, and influenced by Gina's work. The backend with the white ring under the wrap is clearly a Gina touch, Ernie would have put his name in that ring during his first years of cue building. The joint blocks could be a Tad emulation.
I had a cue that was out of the Carmeli shop, but not a Carmeli. Maybe start there, west coast maker or apprentice..

Shame, good looking cue and it always sucks when the maker is uncredited.

JV (----going to put cues on Milk cartons... :D

nice looking whose ever it is. Maybe place it in the ask the cuemakers section. Someone there might be of help.

Hi

Sorry. Been oversea and just log on and saw this.

PM replied.

It was a Greg K. But was later converted by my design. The maker did some fantastic work on the cue. Truly amazing. comparable to alot of very respectable cuemakers out there.

I traded the cue away a long time ago as I could not get use to the shaft being a pred user for some time. I think I made a huge mistake. I should have made matching OB Classic shafts for them!!!

I am confused.. Greg said the cue wasn't his.. how much did the other cuemaker change and who was the cuemaker?

From Greg it was a simple conversion. i think just the shaft and the joint work and tapering and maybe buttcap?

The rest of it were not his.

I do not think Greg would be able to recognise the cue as it is now unless he has some unique way to identify his work on those areas.

I was after the titlist blank. but in my vanity wanted it to look prettier.
