A Cautionary Tale...

regardless of what happened,I recommend droping the whole thing
the facts are
1 your cue arrived with a loose joint and a few swirls around the tip
2-you were offered a full refund along with an apology
3- Murray has rushed to the rescue and shown himself to be a standup guy,but we already knew that
4-forgiveness and forebearance would go a long way toward helping make everyone happy
5-unless this seller has a history of this kind of stuff, lets give him the benefit of the doubt
6-people do make mistakes, isn't it possible that the joint glue broke down in the heat of transit and the seller was just not circumspect in looking at the condition

this alone doen't prove he is a bad guy,he did offer a full refund
so whats the point of trying to ruin a guy's reputation over what
seems to be something far less than deception

I know neither of you fellas,I just recommend less heated ways of
handling things

I leave this thought to you
Blessed are the peacemakers

If you don't get what the big deal is, then there's no use in trying to explain it to you.

Probably not a huge deal in your eyes, since it didn't happen to you.

I'll reserve forgiveness for those that make a genuine mistake...not for those that flat-out lie.

A person who corn-holed me with a piece of East Indian Rosewood does not deserve forebearance.

I'm about as easy-going as they come. I believe I have the right to be pissed, and to air it out, if I believe it will prevent somebody else from getting ram-rodded in the hooh-hah by this guy.

I've said what I had to say about it, and the thread speaks for itself. So do the photos, and copies of the PMs posted up.

Let me know when Murray gets the cue fixed up and you are ready to flip it AGAIN I might be interested. This time I will ask for a profit. I have three more Tuckers if you will beg like an 8th grader again I may sale you one. They DO NOT ALLOW DEALERS on here but it might be worth the risk the way you do business. Joined in 2005 and not on your feet enough to buy a membership to AZ.

I don't think given the current tone of this thread you'll have to worry about selling them to ANYONE.

It surprises me that you haven't offered to pay for the shipping and the repairs required .

I think that would buy you your reputation back and I would think that alone would be worth the $200 -$300 that the repair/ refinish and shipping would cost to make the deal whole.

Yes you would be losing money but nobody could say you didn't do the right thing.

Given your 100% feedback and being a longtime member it seems like the best way out at this point

And me not buying a "membership" has what to do with anything, Mark?

Run out of last-ditch efforts to make yourself NOT look like a dirtbag in this dog of a deal...so you start taking pot shots at anything your pea-sized brain can drum up?

What's wrong? A little butt-hurt that you got called out for being a liar?

Don't like to see that you screwing somebody over went public?

Not happy to get all your money back out of a cue that was pristine when you bought it, and torn up when you sold it?

Hell...you DID make a profit. You got a brand-new condition cue from Guy...raped it until it screamed the safe word...then sold it to me for every dime you paid for it.

You got a pristine cue for $890.
I got a cue that needs sexual assault counselling for the same $890.

You're a worthless P.O.S., and I'm actually grateful that you decided to make another remark. There have been plenty of folks on here who've asked questions about ya...and if you really were THAT much of an asshat.

You just answered that question for all of us.

Go ball-gag and chew on another cue, chief. Try not to choke on the splinters.

Two more quick items of note...since ya wanna get all petty and ish....

1. You're gonna SALE me one? Really? You taking language lessons from Nick or something? My 3rd grade son doesn't need his English books anymore...you want 'em?

2. The way I do business? Which part, exactly? Being polite? Paying your asking price? Letting you know when it's been paid for? Letting you know when it arrives? Letting you know there are major issues with it? Not wanting to deal with a lying dirtbag who either lied to me about the cue's condition...or is just genuinely too stupid to understand that there are major problems with it at all?

Jesus...you're a massive load. Period-dot.

I did not start the thread or set the tone or insist on an argument and name calling. I offered a refund sight unseen no pics of the cue upon arrival just based on raymonds word. Once he found out Murray would make the cue new raymond took the cue apart, and started looking for sympathy. Period.

You insisted on bringing your name into it. I didn't post that up. You identified yourself, you tool. I was gonna just leave it at what I titled it: A Cautionary Tale. You took it upon yourself to chime in...and you get what you get.

I mentioned on page 1, before ANYONE responded on this thread, that you offered a refund...followed by "It wasn't in that shape when I shipped it."

To me (and anyone else with more than seven functioning brain cells in their melon), that's a load of horse crap. Cues don't get 25+ linear pock marks in a case, in a box, sealed up. Especially with no damage to the friggin BOX it was shipped in. Shafts don't scratch themselves up, lining up the damage perfectly to the ferrule. Ferrules don't hate themselves enough to gouge themselves up and rub chalk into the open wounds. Joints don't just "pop" off and unscrew themselves. It takes either extreme temps, or extreme impact (the words of a cuemaker or 12, not mine).

The cue CAME to me already apart, you moron. I talked to Murray before I even posted up the thread.

I didn't want, ask for, or need sympathy. I want, ask for, and need for people to know that you're perfectly fine in screwing somebody over...and laying blame on the USPS Gremlin.

I've put out a BOLO for that little bugger, by the way. I'm sure he has co-conspirators all over Texas.

Might want to inspect all your other cues. They could fall victim to the same fate...which would be a shame. I bet their having a rape crisis meeting in the closet right now. Better go check.

Bottom line is this:

You sodomized the ever-lovin' hell out of this cue, and sold it to me for what you paid for it three months prior. Unless you gave the cue some tongue and a $200 tip for "services rendered," you made your lousy profit.

This cue will never be anywhere near you again. I'm sure I'm gonna have to talk it off a ledge or two over the next year. I'm certain it'll wake itself up in the middle of the night screaming "Bad touch!!!" for quite awhile.

Murray's kind enough to hook me up with a full on repair. The man will be paid for his time and effort, and that will not be forgotten. I hear he likes beer. I shall buy tons of it for him.

The cue will stay with me, and that will be that.

In the long-term...my signature block stays as-is. So will my avatar picture. Anyone that sees the picture and asks me about it, I'll be happy to explain. Anybody that reads anything I post up will see the link to this thread at the bottom of my posts...and will know what they run the risk of stepping into if they give you so much as the time of day.

Good day, sir.

I dont even know how to make "pock" marks on a cue, there is wood missing, they aint dings. how the hell can that even happen, this guy was a pro pock mark maker.

nice that Mr Tucker is stepping up on this one.

I hope it all works out.

My daughter made some for me, it was pretty easy really. Just tip it over on a concrete(or really hard) floor(like my basement was), and if there's any dirt or sand, the pock's come out wonderfull!

Murray The Man

You are a man unlike any other! And I'm talking about your character and your integrity! Not about that pic of you in the dress.

You're a saint Master Tucker!

He makes a terrible woman but he's a prince of a man.

Let it fall on a tile floor with some grit (sand-dirt) on it and you will get those exact same pock marks ,they did it on csi just kidding that is how you get those marks though maybe even how the steel joint got loose?

We've come to the end of the sad stuff about this debacle.

Just shipped the cue out to Murray, today. All should be Skittles and Rainbows from here.

Mark <---checked the box for Gremlins and rocks before sealing it up and shipping it out
