I have a GC IV, and I like it OK, but the pocket castings do not fit flush even though they are down on the wood. The pockets(or cushion facing at the pockets) is HARD. The shirts around the table, although pulled up as tight as possible, still have a little gap between the rails and skirt, and I absolutely hate putting my hand in the ball box only to run into that piece of wood in there to help with support(what were they thinking) I have a bunch of friends with skinned up knuckles that forgot to go in easy.
Anyway.....since I have to get new cloth, fix or remove the cusion facings at the pockets, and all the other stuff I was just thinking that maybe I would get a new table. A couple of my friends are professionals, and I play(at times) pretty close to that level. I want the best playable surface I can get at a reasonable price. I see where Diamond, even though they won't return my emails, has a packge for around $5000. I know they are used in major tournaments, even though I don't see the one in the US Open Championship listed on their website, and just wanted to know if this is a good choice or would you suggest something else? Also, why is a new 9' GC V listed at over $9000, and the whole Diamond package, light and all is around $5000 if Diamond is really that good?....thanks
