Meaning how many pool halls are left in your town or city? re they nice places to go to? Left meaning not closed yet! I am not talking about bars with a couple of bar boxes either! Unless that is all you have in your town or city! Thanks.

We only have one right now. It has 9 tables five of which are pretty bad. We used to have several pool halls but one by one they closed down. The only good news is that this place does have two GC 5's that are kept up pretty well.

Hello RickW,
I think pool players should support their pool halls more. It is sad that you only have one pool hall left in your city. Thanks for your input.

None, zero, zilch I live in pool hall purgatory! Have to drive 30 miles to pool hall.

Well back home in Binghamton we have 3 major halls. Two are right next to each other and had their day. The other is in downtown Binghamton about 8 miles from the other two. The one downtown is in desperate despair but has stadium style seating and a great spot for a major tournament!! Too bad there is nothing going on on their beat up tables.... :(

The Dallas/Fort Worth area has many great places to play and I am very fortunate to live in the middle of the metroplex. I have many weekly tournament options to choose from and league play seems to be doing very well here.

There are two decent places within five minutes of my house. But I don't go very often because the smoke is terrible.

Baltimore has four pool halls now since one had just close a couple of weeks ago. top hat pool room is in my opinion the best. the room is clean, tables are maintain very well. they have three tight tables for a good game of one hole. the other twenty nine footers offer good play for nine or eight ball. three bar boxes in the back receive a lot of play also. they have just purchased a very nice carom table. owners are player friendly and offer weekly tournaments. the action on the weekend is not bad either. running out billiards in dundalk is still run by the great tom (cigar tom) vanover. the tables and room have seen better days. triple nines in elkridge is a room that i have not been to for some time. but the word is it is a nice place. big daddy's in glen burnie is another nice pool room. tables are well kept. they offer weekly and monthly tournaments which attract a lot of the top players from the mid Atlantic area. then there is the green room which i do not consider a pool room. it is apa heaven. twenty five or so bar boxes. caters to the pool league players. but they do have one of if not the best pro shops in the area. charlies pro shop offers quality work at a very nice price.

please support your local room. they need us as much as we need them.

queens new york, probably one of the most diverse areas in the U.S. More pool halls then you can count, something for everyone.

Houston!

Houston Texas has more pool halls then any city in the country...., if you cant find action here, your not look'n. The action is not high dollar, seems like those days are gone, but there is action everyday in 6 to 7 of the pool halls and low level action all over town. 30 Pool halls and tournaments every night, a major tournament once a month.

We have 20-30 with 3-8 tables around where I am. Personally I wish I could find all the ones where you are :) I'd like to supply them :)

You can find the pool halls in my area real easy. Buffalo's Billiards, the worlds pool hall! Metairie, Louisiana! Corner pockets Kenner, Louisiana. The Big Easy Metairie, Louisiana. Mr C's New Orleans, Louisiana. Sports Palace Metairie, Louisiana. There are others but I do not visit them. Now you can get the phone numbers and addresses from the Internet!

About 10,000. But, 99% are crap and only 25% of the non-crap have a pocket table. Off the top of my head, I know about 6 pool halls to play at that have decent tables.

Koreans LOVE caroom pool. I only know of 1 snooker table. And, I only know of 2 8-footers. Everything else that I've seen is 9 footers if they have one. And don't count on it to be good. I play on a lone 8-footer in a really quiet club with about 5 other caroom tables. But it isn't nice. The table is good so that's all I care about.

When Push Comes To Shove

There’s only one room here in Bremerton. It’s only about 15 miles from me but takes a half an hour to get to. They have about 5 GCs on one side of the room which are ok. The other side is a mixed bag with 3 bar boxes and 5 9 foot whatever’s. Unless you get in on the special rates they are a little pricey for this area.

I prefer to go to the ‘OPH’ during the weekdays and play on the 9’ Diamonds for about $15 for the year. Frick, everything is a half hour away from me!

I forgot the next town over, another half hour drive, has a small room. It’s nice but only has 4-8’ tables. Two out of the last 3 times we went there to play it was closed to the public because of birthday parties. Unless there is a league game there I won’t go. Oh, the tables have red cloth and red chalk. They will let you use blue but have you ever tried to clean your shaft after using red chalk?
