TAR 25: Hatch vs Dechaine presented by OB Cues and sponsored by Kamui, CSI and Simonis kicks off tomorrow at 7 PM eastern and tonight we are doing a pre-match podcast with Mike and Dennis at 9 PM Eastern.

If anyone has any questions for Mike and Dennis please post them up and we'll do our best to get them answered. You can also join in the live chat tonight to interact with the players.

PPV links to purchase the match will be up on www.theactionreport.com later today. We hope you join us this weekend for a match that has been talked about for awhile now. The winner will see another match in the near future very probably versus the winner of TAR 26: Archer vs Van Boening.

I would love to know their goals for pool in their lives. short and long-term.

Think it would be interesting to hear their viewpoints, Dennis having been an elite player for about as long as Mike has been alive, and all...

Dennis: What do you do personaly to promote pool??

Mike: Same exact question...

I would like to hear Hatch's stories from when he was a kid. He used to travel in a motor home with his father and mother and was on the road at age of 14, so I've heard. I heard he could run 150 balls playing straight pool by like 15 or 16. I would like for him to confirm this as well as throw in some information about a game called "cowboy" he used to play. Again, this is all second hand information so I would like him to confirm or deny this info. Thanks.

Dennis and Mike

How much time did you practice doing drills when you were growing up?
Or did you just play for hours on end?

Do you do drills today and if so for how long.

Who were your mentors, and who is your current mentor if any?

Maybe I should clarify here.

What question would you ask these guys if you were sitting in front of both of them?

Some of the questions posted are IMO borderline rude and not something I would expect anyone to answer with anything other than a cliche if at all. This isn't a tabloid show and the goal is not to create a Jerry Springer catfight on camera. Want to talk about their history in the game, methods and practice routines, mental preparation for a big match or anything that has to do with pool in general...I'll do my best to get you an answer.

What I wont do is have two guys sitting next to each other and ask them "Tell me why you think your opponent is an asshole."

Edgy questions are all good but if you wouldnt ask it face to face in good taste then I probably wont ask it either.

the girl vs guy thing that's been going around here?

I've heard about it but havent seen the thread. Plates kinda full right now and honestly I prefer to focus on the matches that are happening now rather than something that may or may not happen if two hundred things go right, no one changes their mind, stubs their toe or discovers fusion in the interim.

For both Mike and Dennis; What diameter tip do you prefer and if you have a favorite shaft you play with, who is the maker?

I can't see straight anymore

There have been so many aiming threads on AZB that it is driving me crazy.
my game has been suffering.
I bought Scott Frost and John Brumbacks tape both excellent.

Now, I am looking for the holy grail, Aiming Videos?

How about a aiming example?

I will try to have both guys mic'ed wirelessly and if they want to get up and show something on the table they will be able.

Ok, I misunderstood. So let's try this again. But first, I meant no disrespect and I thought you wanted controversy and buzz.

Filtered questions (ask them if you want):

Dennis:
I am a very big fan and I've watched you play for many years. I love the emotion you display. And the tears you cried at the Mosconi Cup made me cry like a baby. It felt very American and I was extrememly proud of you and the team!!!

1.) How big of a let down was it to not make the 2011 Mosconi Cup after the announcement was made that you made the cut at the US Open?

Mike:
I too am a big fan of yours as well. Tell us about the Ultimate 10 Ball in Dallas. It was a tale of two matches. You flat out dogged a 7 to beat Jeremy in the semis where he went on the win. And then Jeremy missed a ball late in the final set and you went on to win the tourney.

1.) Do you feel those two sets were milestones in your career development and why?

Thanks

I say skip the general the questions. I personally would rather hear them tell war stories about past match-ups and old times. Mike and Dennis don't owe anyone any explainations........

Justin:

How about some friendly ribbing instead, to help break the ice and inject a little levity?

Just prior to beginning his matches, Dennis usually likes to ask someone at the venue to install his sponsor patches on the back of his shirt, in the usual place (i.e. on the back of the neck area, just below the collar). You might want to josh him about these trampstamps -- I mean -- hatchstamps, and ask him if he has a preference as to who installs them.

You'll get a chuckle from him (or maybe even a roll of the eyes), because Frank DelPizo and I busted his chops about that just as he was to begin his first match at the 2010 SBE 10-ball. ;) (The "awwww mannnn!" you get from him will be priceless. :D)

No worries. I think the above questions are awesome and will certainly ask them. Thanks for taking the time to post them.

Q @ both: This is a big match, how have you prepared and

honestly how much time have you put in on a table to get

ready, so you can be the windshield and not the bug in this

match?

Q @ both: Have either of you been practicing on a 41/8 inch

pocket table, and what are your thoughts as far as playing this

and future matches on 41/8 pockets as compared to 41/4 inch

pockets. (personally I think 41/4 makes for better shots, games, and

matches)

Q @ both: I think that Team USA needs both of you if we're going to

win the up-coming Mosconi Cup what are your thoughts, also on the

captain situation?
