I went to Hard Times in Bellflower to watch the final few matches in the 10-ball Tournament. Thought some might enjoy a few pictures......

The room was set-up well

They had Jay Helfert & Ernie Gutierrez in the Booth

Jay often works deceptively hard....:)

Jenny Lee lost to Scott Frost, I think she can give me the 7 out, and still crush me... (Edit: I'm SURE she can give me the 7 out and squash me like a bug)

great photos

Who said pool is dead?

I watched the finals on POVpool, thanks for the free stream. Just a great event.

You captured some great moments there. I especially like that pic of SVB facing the camera with the lights in the background. Tough shooting conditions!

Great pics. Jay and Ernie in the booth, the frozen in air jump shot, and lots of the competitive faces.

Really good stuff.

Great Photos

What Camera, Len's, ISO and apperature setting did you use..
I assume you were not using a flash?

Thanks Barney,

I used a Nikon DSLR and 3 different lens. Most were taken with an 85mm 1.8, the balance with either an 80-200 2.8 or a 17-50 2.8. All were shot at 1600 ISO and most were "wide open", whatever that was on the given lens. All of them should have EXIF information embedded if you'd like more detail.

No flash allowed.

Great photos, thanks for sharing!! Love the action shots on the break! You are an awesome photog!

Thanks for posting the great pictures.

I sure miss living in SOCAL and playing in that room in Bellflower. I have yet to be in a poolroom that I like better than Hardtimes.

Next time there try to get a picture of my old friend Al Romero.

Manny Chau... not Chan.

Great pics... thanks for sharing!

Yeah, I had never seen Manny play and I shot a picture of the matches chart and thought it said Chan, going back after you said this I see I misread it.

Thanks for the correction and the kind words.

Joe
