Steven you have a clear point that is understandable. Others have also made a fair point that is understandable if he were to watch the site he would know its not usually how this is done BUT I have some very rare cues and in some cases I do not want others knowing what I paid so I think all should call a truce maybe and go get a pint together and become mates.
TO THE SELLER : GREAT CUE
I will be direct and let you know I have been seriously considering this cue for reasons another mate was considering the cue and for it would fit part of my collection. I know these cues and they are super hard to obtain and boy can they shoot. As a member of the site and I guess I really can only speak for myself .
I would suggest if your not in a hurry to dump the cue to withdraw the offer and then at a later time offer this nice cue back to this market and same site for I think the whole presentation from us members and from your method of listing it may have affected the whole sale. Those whom collect BB cues do have an interest in it and they are here .I would buy a BB here prior to a fleabay that is for sure.
This is the correct site and forum of individuals for the sale of such a cue and yes a select few would like to keep the price private so you are in the right place. I would suggest that you might want to either consider one of the brokers here of top quality cues and there are several here to represent it and quality check it also. I have done it myself to keep my privacy on higher end sales and it was well worth it at this site.
They are professional about it and taken more serious and can obtain top funds for your cue as their customer base is larger as they built a customer base within this field that in sales surpasses fleabay . I would just suggest you withdraw if for a short bit as your presentation was correct just not worded correctly and those brokers are not going to tell you at this time what you have not pointed out on the cue nor has anyone yet that makes it a find. Also some of the members that responded rough are not really bad guys/gals Ive talked to several and they are good mates.
Steven , was correct to try to slow a bad roll on a good cue and the people whom have been contacting you have a natural interest in the cue or they would pass your listing. This has been a lose lose situation and from my history with a few of them they are just frustrated as they have a natural interest in a nice cue and they would like to be the one to get it.
If you had a person whom could represent the cue properly and explain why and what factors justify application of any price it should work for you.
I will not suggest any of the cue brokers on here as that would be unfair to other mates but also realize you are their competition right now so they are not going to jump out of their way to sell your cue when their customers may be considering their cues against yours. I also feel a broker would help YOU understand the market right now and what to expect and present your cue properly with those response . When dealing with higher level cues your at the best place as many here whom do obtain your type cue stay here.
I know this sounds a odd thing to mix the word broker and cue together for a sale but once you get to a certain level they are an asset and they do this all the time and are highly trusted and are required in some transactions . As this post went in a odd direction I posted it directly on your thread to that I would not normally do but I feel others may learn from this post .Once you get to a certain level the top guys on here are invaluable and I suggest you seek them out. For instance your comment that they stated it was rare means nothing to a person whom is truly interested but these brokers have the rapport with BB and can get a letter for a small fee possibly that will justify a increase of value to a person like say me.
You do have the cue and your at the right place and the right people are here. I am sorry this did not go well for you or the buyers but I feel for both parties this level of a cue and the way this has unfolded I would suggest a broker for you and your customers to find a parity so you may close the sale. There are plenty of professional brokers on here with great reputations just ask around and grab one up,They are fair and have the knowledge you did not post and can respond as to why a listing is requested silent in a different manner.----- This was just all miss communication and base knowledge---
There is a bunch of great people here do not let this 1 rift get you down
Wow I wrote my first book
