Old, rare Blackboar for sale

Chris - thanks for the info.

I have never intended to irritate people on this site. I may put it on another one soon to alleviate any more problems.

As for this thread - I will set a price. It will probably get some of you all wound up. Don't bother sniping at me. You asked for a price and schooled me about the site. If you have no interest in the cue - ignore it. If you are interested - PM me.

Asking $5,000.00

You are quite welcome to list your cue as an auction or sale here

http://www.classifiedbilliards.com/mybb/forumdisplay.php?fid=23

There is an auction format layed out that is free of fees and completely automatic. Just list your base selling price, if someone likes the item at that price they bid, and start the automatic auction process,,,,,if you get no bids, the price is too high for the current market, so the item doesn't sell, but again, there are no fees,,,,,so no loss for trying. In the event you get a bid, the bid stands till either the bid duration (time period set by you, the seller) runs out, auction over, item sold,,,,,,,,or, you get a higher bid, and so on until bidding ceases. Any bid is an absolute sale, and at least gets your base selling price.

It's your cue, and a nice one, you can ask what you wish.

Maybe this isn't necessarily an auction section, but it also should not be allowed to be a ridicule section.

Thanks for the info. There are a lot of people on here that like to take shots at you. Everyone knows that it isn't allowed - but they do it anyway. I heard good things about AZ before I started posting. But to tell the truth - it hasn't been a great experience. The guys that post all the negative stuff and side comments are not doing anything constructive, and they really detract from the AZ experience. Just saying...

As for ivory - the window inlays in the butt are and the catalog states that the ferrules are always ivory per standard. I am not sure about the buttcap, but it has the grain look of ivory.

As for the bidding site stabs that are shot out - I guess it depends who you are. There is a guy that posted the first boar of 2012 with no price - just asked for PM offers. Lots of great comments. It is a stellar cue and deserves praise. Just treat everyone the same.

I might take a lower offer - IF YOU ARE SERIOUS AND DON'T WANT TO WASTE MY TIME - PM AN OFFER.

I conduct myself as a gentleman - here and at the pool table. I just expected the same on such a reputable site...

The butt cap is not ivory. That ivory look substitute has fooled many.

As far as the snide comments on your sale, but not on the other guy's. I could explain that to you if you are truly interested. However, as often as you warn buyers about wasting your precious time, lets look at it from the buyer's perspective (as a seller you might want to give that a try). If you are asking (just pulling a number out of thin air as example) more than twice as much as your cue will bring in today's market, who is wasting who's time?

Thanks and good luck selling your cue.

You are absolutely correct, however this was not always the case. A lot of what you are addressing is coming lately from a select group of "new" AZ members. They barely have no time on this forum, criticize or bash other members posts, they are "subject matter" experts on everything billiard related (but know very little) and will haggle you to no end over prices.

Maybe you are referring to guys that join the site to sell their cue. Their first post is the for sale ad, they make it impossible to get a price out of them, when you do its double the real value, and then they berate everyone for not seeing the value in their special, rare, almost one-off item?

Thanks

Kevin

that is what gentlemen do wright ......

now im making you a public offer

I'm not in the market for a cue right now - I'm saving to buy a house. I have 5 other cues. Sorry I didn't get back to you. I responded to a bunch of PMs and must have missed yours - I apologize.

You have a great cue. The older BB cues are awesome. I've owned several, and they all played great, and were built exceptionally well. Your cue is harder to come by than some others that were kicked out back then...but you were not provided accurate value information, sir. I was interested in the cue until you told me what you wanted for it. To be honest...your asking price is twice what the cue is actually worth.

That said...a cue is worth what someone is willing to pay. It's not outside the realm of possibility that somebody here will HAVE to have it, and be willing to pay your price (or close to it) for it.

Either way...as I said...great cue. Looks like a real player. Good luck on your sale.

Length of time on AZ

I wanted to make a response to something that was said on here. I didn't just jump on here and try to sell a cue. I have been a member for quite a while. I joined in 2008 and did a lot of watching and reading over the years without posting. So - I didn't just jump on and list a cue. I am an avid pool enthusiast and love the game. My game is pretty strong, and I like to network with others and learn all I can... and gamble. LOL

So keep it coming - I would like to learn more.
