Lee Brett is a great ref, too

Besides being a great coach, Lee Brett can also be a great ref, just as he has been showing in the Bonus Ball matches that are being filmed in Las Vegas. He even had the nerve to throw Tommy Kennedy out of the arena for being disruptive. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen in pool. :D

 thanks Roger.. i been learning the ropes the last few days, and starting to get better. I'd rather be on a team but i have too wait so being apart of the league i'm happy.

Good meeting you, and hope to see you again soon.

Yeah, it's really hilarious when professional players act unprofessionally...NOT! Surprising with TK, as he is normally a cool head.

Sorry, Scott, I didn't mean to confuse anybody. Tommy wasn't acting unprofessionally; it was an unusual, light-hearted moment. Tommy was spectating a match when he got a call on his cell phone. He was whispering into the phone, but he could still be heard slightly. Lee came over, with a smile on his face, and told him, "Out, out." Everyone enjoyed it.

Oh...my mistake! LOL :speechless:

This league needs someone with authority to be in charge of the players. You have to have the respect of the players and know the rules inside out and be fast on your feet. You need to be on your game to keep up and keep the players in control.

Tommy is one of the easy ones to control, not so sure about a few of the others though yet :)

So funny, he doesn't know how to turn his ringer off! It happened when we were sitting together at the US Open 9 Ball too, his phone went off & he was frantically trying to silence it & said he didn't know how. He's one of the nicest & most professional player I know!

Hey, Lee! What a coincidence you should bring that up here. Tommy is staying with me during the WPBL season, and we were practicing Bonus Ball on my home table last night. Some situations came up where we were not totally sure of the rules. I commented that I hope the professional Bonus Ball matches will have refs that will be strong on knowing the rules as well as strong on enforcing them. Then Tommy said, "Yeah, I hope we get Lee Brett in there; he was great in Vegas in May!"

I agree with Tommy. I hope you'll be coming back, Lee.

Say hi to Tommy for me Roger, he is a great guy. One of the nicest if not the nicest person i've ever met. Hopefully i will be in there keeping him in his place.

Thanks for the kind words

Everybody knows Lee is a great coach, but he makes a good ref also. He knows the game, he is always professional and maybe most importantly, the players know he will not put up with any guff. He wont let any of the players (like Earl maybe) bulldoze him.

Earl got away with murder at Tunica. I was playing on the next table and he was going thru his complete act. Earl and I have been friends since he was a teenager, but that dont mean that he can disrupt my matches. Nobody pulled him up and I had to go over and tell him myself to flush all the bull sh*t in the toilet where it belongs. That ended all further abuse.

That's why you need a no nonsense ref in certain spots.
