um uh are you sure? Talk to about 10-15% of the one-pocket players out there. They are not many but they are around.
But as of a minute ago one pocket was still a different game from eight-ball.

Agreed
Hey D.
Strangely enough as of last night. I think I am better than I believed I was. After tonight we will be official APA membersin a 9 ball league. For the last week Hubby and I have been practicing 9 ball. He likes to play lots of safeties. And I must also agree on this one. It's so freaking cool to see him drop his jaw when I get out of them. My confidence on banks has improved 10 fold easy. Because in 8 ball l could always cut something into a pocket, but when faced with a bank I had 25% success rate. As of today I can say I'm closer to over 50% success rate. So Yes! I do so enjoy that HAHA feeling I did it
- Add to that positioning myself well for the next shot. I
it.
Because you asked I will thank people for their safety. Although they annoy me I don't complain out loud or throw a tissy. At best I'll do "Ughhh" and curl my lip.
I loved what one of the others posters said too. They will play a safety until he knows he can run the whole table. WOW! I understand he is a pro. That's just amazing to me. However, I'll be starting league as a 2 tonight. The guys with advanced levels love going against me because I'm always having fun. When I get on the table I look for 3 balls I can shoot. After I sink #1, I look for another set of 3 and so on. I have so much to learn, I'm still working on draw, banks and cb placement of my next shot. 99% of the safeties I try are an EPIC fail
. Maybe in the future I will change my views on safeties or maybe I'll just "Thank you"

I am not killing anything. I am exposing the weakness of a opponent which is what you should do in any game. I do not play in the US Open tournament. My matches are not televised. What does my safety play have to do with the health of the game? It sounds like your beef is with the rules. If you don't like them perhaps you should work on getting them changed instead of *****ing at people who like to play the game the way it is currently being defined.
Unless you dumb it down by playing dumb safeties when there are available reasonable shots? Why don't you just have more confidence in your shooting ability?
I never said anything about playing a dumb safety I don't doubt my abilities at all. Playing a safety has nothing to do with self confidence. Just because you can make a shot doesn't always mean that you should.
What I meant by "dumb down my game" was that it would not make sense for me to take a low percentage shot when an obvious safety presents itself.
If you think that playing a safety is a weakness you probably have allot to learn about pool. Any serious student of the game knows that one of the keys to becoming successful at this game is knowing when to switch between offense and defense.
