Cue Extension

Yeah, this item showed up in another thread not too terribly long ago. I don't believe the gripper part inside is padded so I would be very careful using this on an expensive cue.

I think there is a version of this that is adjustable for length as well.

If I even think it has a chance to damage my cue it goes in the trash! It looked like it had some kind of liner if you look close. I will keep you informed when I get it. Probably take a month to get it from the Far East!

They certainly may have improved on the original version in regard to lining the interior. I couldn't tell if that interior was lined or just black. IIRC, the original one I saw was white plastic on the inside.

Unfortunately, the photos were posted through P Bucket and are no longer available so I can't be sure. But there is some discussion about it. I believe it functions similar to the Longoni. If so, proceed with some caution because those do clamp down on the cue.

Looks well made and a decent price. A take-off of a Longoni which I have and paid $50 for in Vegas. Usually $60. Works well but be very careful. The fingers which grip the butt can mar the finish if used wrong. Stick on butt while holding straight up and turn tightener ONLY holding bottom of extension. Just put it on a good house cue. I would not chance putting on a valuable cue.
 
It works perfectly. There's padding on interior so it wont damage cue at all

I believe this is the same one I bought a the SBE. I was always afraid to use something like this because I did not want to hurt my cue. When I checked it out it looked and went on ok. I is very light. This may make you feel out of balance. You have to practice with it to get used to it. You can adjust the length of the extension.
 
Wow thats a beast.

I think the pic clearly shows no liner tho. The jaws even seem to have scraches.

Let us know, good luck with it. It does seem well built.

Very well made...that is the good news. Bad news is it doesn't work for shit. No liner and it doesn't screw down tight enough to hold the cue snug. I will right this one off as a loss...wouldn't sell it to anyone.

Hmmmmm,
doesn't screw down tight and no padding. . . . perhaps a little felt glued in appropriate places would solve both problems?

hmm Very sorry. One of our friends has one. No liner. To me it looks like a vaccum extension, it is not adjustable and it's quite rudimentary. Anywho. Both of my cues are way too narrow for it. Did the seller include specs stating to what diameter it tightens?

does he take returns.

I don't believe specs were posted but I reasonably expected it would fit a standard custom cue...my bad. Seller is in the Orient so not worth the hassle of returning it...can you say "Trash Can" :wave2:

Wedge -- if it's too loose, could you salvage it by gluing something around the interior circumference, or possibly at just 3 or 4 equally spaced points on the circumference? Cloth? Cork? Leather?
 
just what AtLarge is driving at. I suggest you carry kind of a napkin or maybe even a piece of cloth - and wrap your cue butt before fitting the extension on. Should solve both problems, cue not snug and possible scratches.
