There are some cue makers out there that I love every one of their cues, but to me, Bill McDaniel isn’t one of them. He has done a lot of floating point cues that no matter who would have done them I wouldn’t have liked.

The other thing that I might mention that when I am looking to flip a cue, and can buy and sell or just walk away and forget it pretty quick. But if I see a cue that I think I would like long term I try to stay at getting it for years if necessary. I have liked this cue for about 3 years, it is still in new condition and I got it from a local dealer. We worked out a fair trade and both are happy. :smile:

This cue is truly amazing. I has just right amount of pizazz without being over the top. I really, really like this cue.

The butt weighs exactly 14.8 oz. and each shaft is 4.0 oz., just off my ideal weight of 19 oz. One shaft is 12.82 mm and the other is 13.06 mm, but both weigh the exact same. I am thinking Bill was trying to hold the weight on both shafts exactly the same and needed to take a little off of the one. (?) The ring count in the shafts is incredible and is old school honey brown in color.

What do youse guys think?

LOL, Im not going to say never, but I like this cue. There are several of Bill's cues in the Paducah area and I got to shoot with several of them. The owners are all holding theirs pretty tight too.

As long as it doesnt have floating points....let me see the cue.

My Schick is the only cue I have that I can say I will never sell.

Ken, that's a really nice example. I've always liked that style of cue....the design wasn't overly done/repeated. Bill is certainly one of the most underrated of modern cuemakers, imo. His butts and shafts stay straighter than most anybody's over time. He and his guys really knew how to build a quality playable cue.....not just super high quality work (tolerances) but also very adjustable with respect to his weight bolt system and changing the balance point. Enjoy that one...it's a dandy.

As some has asked me in PMs, the cue was built in 2002, and at that time it retailed for $3600.

Well since you stated that, let me ask a couple questions. I have never met Bill, but I asked a local guy about him he said he was a genius, as in a super smart guy. As I understand it, Bill no longer builds cues, and I heard his shop might still be in operation, it isnt what it used to be.

Does anyone have the real story?

What is Bill doing now?
