Great idea!
This is the garage at my parents house. Well...it started out as a garage. About 15 years ago my dad turned it into his woodworking shop. We had always kind of joked about getting a pool table. We have a big formal dining room with a big antique dining table we use maybe twice a year and every year around Thanksgiving we try to convince my mom we should just replace the dining room table with a pool table because it would get a lot more use. Well about 3 year ago at Thanksgiving Day dinner she actually put some serious thought into it as we were sitting at this ginormous dining table for the only time that year.
Long story short...we ended up measuring almost every room in the house and none of them were the right size...but the garage was another story! We spent a week planning and my dad spent two weeks cleaning out and renovating. All I have to say is BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!

I have spent MANY nights on that couch because I'll play until I'm too tired (or drunk) to make it upstairs. It's super comfy by the way. On warm days we'll open up the garage door, blast the music and play. On the right there is the mud room. Just inside it along that wall is the stereo. My dad wired it so we could put these big box speakers we had in storage up in the rafters. It's an older system and has been moved around quite a few times but for the most part it sounds great! And because it's in the garage, the noise doesn't bother my parents at night which is very nice for the all nighters.
My mom thought a TV would be a good idea where that dart board is. After the "no way in hell is a TV going to defile our pool room" talk my brother and I gave her we ended up with the dart board. I think it was a good choice.
