I am selling two Porper cue lathes, a model B as well as a mini repair lathe. The Mini has never realy been used. The B has been rebuilt, new bearings and complete carriage assembley. It has a few upgrades, rear chuck, quick change tool post as well as a poor mans readout. I helped rebuild this equipment for a friend but unfortunately he has health issues and has asked me to sell them for him. He is looking for a local buyer if possible, he does not want to have to crate and ship them. If a local buy is not possible the buyer would have to arrange shipping and describe in detail how he needs them packaged. The seller will not be responsible for damage due to shipping. He would like to sell both as a package. He is asking 4000.00 for both. He is located in St.Albert Alberta. Just outside of Edmonton.

Great set up, wish I was in the market. I like the double chuck set up at the headtock. The set up giving a person the same as a DRO is sweet as well. Should sell easy

Thanks for the supportive words Tom. Just to let people know we are looking for local buyer first, I do appreciate the over the border interest and if we cant find someone to pick up the lathes then we will certainly consider these offers. Just keep in mind that you will have to cover the cost of shipping.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to look

I really like the poor man's readout attachment. Did you make it yourself or by
it already made? If self made would like to know how you did it?

Yes I built that for him. It is quite simple to build. I used a small square plate to fasten the dial to and couple of pieces of angle to create the stop. I sloted the stop so as you can adjust it according to which part of the cross slide you are using. I also used thumb screws on all the parts so it is quick to remove if you need to.

Just an update,
We have not found any local buyers so we will be open to the idea of shipping. I have had allot of interest so when time allows I will contact those who left messages. I am very busy at the moment so I don't have time to organize the transaction. For those who are serious please do your homework and find out what shipping will cost and add that to your offers.
I will update this thread when I have the time to arrange shipping.
Thank you everyone for your interest.

Shipping,packaging, weights, etc

If you could package everything i'm sure you will need the weights and package size requirements to get an accurate quote from any shipper. I've shipped one of these model b"s before and know it will require two packages, because of the weight and size requirements.

If you're really eager to sell, then i'd suggest you do your homework, too many missing variables for anyone to get a shipping quote especially form the Usa, since the shipper will originate in Canada

I used to hear tell of Canadians leaveing with vans suvs etc into USA at one weight and a person meeting them and they drive back slightly lighter and Visa Versa.

I don't know what that means, just something I heard and I am 80% hearing impaired.

clear your pm's. i have a couple quesitons. Or, please send me your phone number.

I can pick up.

thanks,

thanks,

I cleared some space in my mailbox, my appologies I have been real busy so I have not had time to attend to the add.

Are these lathes still available? I was under under the impression someone had already purchased these.
I know i had inquired about the price of shipping, however you couldn't give me any details as to the weight size of packaging etc. I had previously commented that it was impossible to get a quote to or from anywhere without knowing the specifics. I never heard back form you. Then there was suppose to be someone here posting that they could pick it up.

Let me know something, i can't come there
