A weekend bump.
i believe that is yellow micharta, wich was commonly used back then!
I believe it's ivory but what I'll do is make a trip over to Tad's and verify it.
I'm the original owner and I purchased this cue close to 40 years ago so it's possible my memory might be wrong.

When the cue was new it wasn't yellow.
It has yellowed over the years.
You're right but true ivory does yellow with age also as do some plastics.
So I guess we'll see if my memory is full of it or not. lol
Since the question of whether the cue is ivory or not has come up I've been doing some research on the net on how to tell real ivory and some sources say the older the ivory the darker it gets with age but some plastics do the same thing.
Monday I'll give Tad or Fred a call and go over there find out for sure.
I'm going to be embarrassed if it isn't ivory. lol
Kevin, even though it's been close to 40 years since I bought this cue I'm very confident that it's ivory, I don't think that Tad even used micarta inlay in his cues in the late 60's and early 70's but I could be wrong.
I'll say this, I'm 99% sure of what I have but there is always the possibility that I might remember it wrong.
At any rate, I'll make a trip to Tad's on Mon.
Now there is a good idea. I guarantee you if maybe 25 of the 3000 looks were made by guys that believed what you had was ivory, it would be gone.
Thanks
Kevin
Kevin, I think those 25 may have made a big mistake.
