My first post and hello to all.

Oh wow. I can't decide if this is a true fan, someone looking for couples counseling, an advertisement for internet tv or a clever spammer/troll. Defintely entertaining post though.

Dear members,

As you can see, this is my first post and I sure will enjoy my time here in this wonderful forum with a bunch of great guys. Simply just to say hi and briefly introduce myself. Well, my name is Gary and I'm in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, where the then World Pool Championship was staged in 2005 and I had great memories because I hung out with the U.S. players everyday during that time. Earl, Johnny, Gabe, Corey, Mike davis, Danny Basavich, Schmidt, Rodney, Charlie Bryant and Williams... And I feel proud because they all recognized me and I bought a nine ball for Earl and Johnny to sign on it and that's priceless to me. Them two were my idols as I grew up playing pool so that really mean a lot to me, as for the rest, they all signed on a Q-ball too. I'm 37 but going to be 38 very soon, not married but have a girlfriend who got a great heart, personality but just ok looking. So my first question is, should I marry her because she's not consider "pretty"? Really, I really want to know you guys opinions, especially those who have experienced marriage. Although it's not pool-related but hope you guys don't mind. I'm working as International Sales Representative in this toner cartridge company and I'm a huge Giants fan because I use to live in New York, that's American football in case if you're not from the states. I'm very happy that I now can watch football through internet for only USD200.00 for the whole season, it was USD300.00 last season... For some reasons Taiwan's ESPN or other sporting channels don't broadcast football at all. I also like good songs and good foods but have been on a diet for the past 3 and a half months and lost 25KG, but I'm not done yet, still a few KGs to go. Well, so far it's pretty much non-pool related but just to make it more pool related, I was a pool player a long time ago and engaged in a lot of local tournaments. Although I don't play anymore but pool is always in my heart and I'll always have the pool players mentality in me. If there's anything you would like to know about Taiwan's pool, or other things, I would like to find out and inform you. So once again nice to meet you guys and you can tell me a little about yourself too. Later guys!

Hello WintakeGary,
I want to welcome you to the AZB family and forums. I hope you will enjoy being a member of such a nice forum, and the AZB family!

I am not getting involved in the personnel side of your first post. Yes sir I am staying clear of that one.... Proceed at your own Risk!!! Best wishes.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Gary,

If you want to be happy for the rest of your life,
Never make a pretty woman your wife.

So from my personal point of view,
Get an ugly girl to marry you.

Jimmy Soul

Bingo! When young I dated pretty women. Without exception, they were self centered and manipulative.

My "average looks" bride and I just celebrated our 37th anniversary.

For the long haul, what's between their ears is the most important factor.

Nope, doesn't work, been there. Was married to a ugly one for over 20yrs and they are just as treacherous as the pretty ones, and much tougher on the eyes.

WOW! Isn't it amazing? I've been away for only a weekend and now I have to "search" for my thread in page 4!! This family is HUGE! As for the weekend, I spent most of the time with my ok looking gf and yes I was fat, I was 103KG for a while but my gf didn't care about my look, I guess I was a good looking fat guy? But I was in my best shape when I met the players in 2005, I think I could finish a marathon at that time. Anyway, let's move on with my weekend, watched my Giants got beat by 1 point, can you believe that, they went for 2 point when they only needed 1 to tie, no wonder they called it the preseason. My man Eli would kill them in a real game and excuse me if you're the fan of that team. And watched olympics including Usain's crew beat the U.S. Dame! He was fast!

Anyway, truly thanks to you guys for welcome me and the advices, I will sure slowly digest them and take them into heart. I can't reply everything in details cause I'm at work, but it's very good to know that they're some important pool-related personnels here in the forum. As for my fellow Taiwanese who lives in Atlanta, it's nice to see you here sir and I suggest you to pay a visit to Archer's poolhall, you can also see Shawn Putnam there and he's a very polite guy. Except for that he may be chewing a McDonald's cheese burger. Johnny is very cool of course but you can sense that he's got the killer instinct in him. My point is if I were in Atlanta I would visit Johnny's place sometimes, and they got great foods too according to, again, this website. And I'll be rooting for Matt Ryan, but he's nowhere near my man Eli but that's not the point here. I suggest Mr. Helfert to ask my half-Chinese, Half-Pinoy friend here to find out the true causes. Well, he knows Taiwanese players very well and I once talked to my favortie Taiwanese player Lee, he won the Challenge of Champions once and he told me that he had to hire a "secretary", which was actually a translator to accompanied him to the states for that trip. That included the plane ticket for 2, that's quite expensive man, and of course all the costs for that secretary. I forgot how much he paid for that secretary but it shouldn't be cheap. So if he didn't win that event, he would actually lost lots of money instead. Although you offered them free rooms but the plane ticket is expensive, and if they have to hire a "secretary" then forget it, their English is truly bad I'm not kidding, they can read from A-Z and that's about it, they definitely don't know what's "billiards." I once heard Kuo, Po-Cheng pronounced "foul", "four"... they might have to made it to the semis to win something. And probably they can't really get use to the foods too. So, if you can offer them a translator ( and it'll be better if the translator is Taiwanese too so the person won't set them up with unfair gambling actions), and guarantee them there'll be lots of gambling actions, then maybe the good ones and the confident ones would give a try. But that's just my opinion. But it is a pity that the Taiwanese aren't in the U.S. Open or else it'll be the greatest event in pool. All the U.S. pros and strong players are in, the top Europeans are in, top Philippinos are in, it seems like only Taiwanese is missing.

And to Mr. Blue Hog, Come on, I'm sorry that I offended you but 54 is a bit aged. I'm almost 40 and I have to call you "uncle", see? Just like college kids have to call me "uncle" too but I don't feel shy about my age, some people don't even lived up to your age, you know, there're 3 million ways to die according to this rap song, and the rappers rather die smoking weed...

Anyway, thank you guys again and I'll come back tomorrow and jump straight to page 2 or 3, take care.

And btw my gf knows that I think of her just "average looking" and she also knows that I indeed care a lot about look, I can sense that, well, she even told me that she's not very satisfy with that. But I do treat her well, don't get me wrong, there must be a reason why we're together at least for now. Why would I ask that question to begin with if I don't really care about her?

that is not aged old wise man

Advices from an aged wise man should always be taken into consideration. But set her free? I'm not quite sure about that... She kinda likes me a lot, so I'm not sure if that'll be a good thing for her... And I do like her just not love... Maybe I'm confused? But thanks anyway.

blue hog rider is more like prehistoric he is older than dirt.

And not very good looking either , he has to tie a bone around his neck to get the dog to play with him. other that BHR good people.

welcome to azbilliards.

Thanks Gary, I suspected it was about the costs involved. In this modern era of sports, most world class athletes find a way to communicate in English, the closest thing to a universal language. That way they don't need to bring a translator with them everywhere they go.

There have been several non English speaking Japanese players who have done well in recent U.S. Opens, and imo the top Taiwanese players are superior to them. I suspect either Ko Pin Yi or Chang Jun Lin will do well this year, maybe even win!

I really am tempted to wade through the pages to read the responses.

I've got two crazy questions.

1. If she knows you think of her as only average looking, do you know what she thinks of you?

2. What's her ass look like?

Freddie <~~~ might as well press the button

Welcome Gary. Don't marry this girl if you can't see her beauty...you will truly regret it.

Yep, Archer's pool room MBC is usually where my friends and I go play. I've gone there even before it was called the Marietta Billiard Club. Convenient location, great staff, great menu, and good equipment (hopefully all the tables get new felt soon).

Heck, if any Taiwanese players need an interpreter in the U.S. just come to me. I'll do it if they pay for travel/lodging/meal expenses while they're here. They don't need to pay an accompanying interpreter from Taiwan... :)

still no pics of the girl in question?

thats a rule on other forums...

Bosoms or exit? :D

It seems to me that if every new member made a thread announcing their arrival, this forum would be filled with nothing but "Welcome to the forum" posts.

Jump in and start talking about pool! Come over to NPR and we can help you with your lady problems.

I guess I am just being cynical but for a first post, I think this guy is playing us well.

I am tolerant to a point,

but I don't see why the guy can't hit enter once and awhile to seperate paragraphs. It makes the post so much more enjoyable to read.

That 'love' feeling fades as you get older. I have been married 4 times to 3 different women. Now, I have 2 sisters that I am best friends with and we have benefits. I prefer the relationships now.

Trust me, if you two are real good friends, can talk about anything in the world including the pimple on your ass or anal sex, then the enthusiasm in the bedroom will more than makeup for not being pretty.
