Giving the '7' means that the seven becomes a money ball just like the '9'. If the person receiving the spot makes the '7' they win the game. There are other variants like the Call 7 or "called 7" which means you still win if youaake the 7 but only if you call it. Stating the number of the ball in the spot only like "he will spot you the 7" means that for you the 7 is "Wild" any time you make it, even by luck or on the break you win that game. I think the only time you will see a spot with a "name" is the Orange Crush which is pretty much what a pro would play a C or B player with. It's all the breaks, the 5, and ball in hand after the break (at least when I have seen it).
There may be other "named" spots but that's the only one I have heard of.
hang-the-9...In my recollection, the Orange Crush is the 5 out and the breaks (no ball in hand)...not just the 5ball.
