Nubs Wagner Nova cues

I'm looking to buy a Nova shaft, I also think it might be easer to have one made for my cue. I know there has been much discussion on the shaft insert that Nubs used in his shafts. I have done a lot of reading of past post and threads trying to learn all I can about this subject. This is what I have learned, At one point there was a black one piece insert on nova shafts, Many people have said things like when hit hard the shaft will expload. From reading a older post it was said that Nubs later fixed this problem by using Diamond wood for the insert, and that seemed to solve the problem. Can anyone confirm this, or add there knoladge to this, I'm trying to look into having a shaft made for my Nove and want to make sure I use the same material as Nubs did. Please feel free to add any information you can share with me on this subject.....Thanks in advance to all the skilled people on this sight..............

Dang, how many sections did you post this thread. I sent Nubs an email. Hopefully he'll have the time to answer.

Anyway Bubby Thanks for trying to contact Nubs, I did not realize you guys where friends. It's hard to find a spare Nova shaft, Thats why I thought it would be easer to have one made. I want to make sure the new shaft is made exactly the way Nubs build his so the hit and feel would be the same as the original That I have. The only problem I can see is making sure the new shaft is made with the exact same material as Nubs used for his insert. I read somewhere that later on he used diamond wood because at one point there was lots of peoblems with the earlier shafts and at some point he changed to using diamond wood. Just trying to find out whats the full story and what i should have a new shaft made with..
Maybe after I know whats going on You can build me a shaft if your up for it Mike.

I have no doubt I can make you a shaft but keep this in mind, No two shafts hit the same, I don't care who made it, there is always some variance and it's always subjective. just an honest answer.

Hi Jack if you come up empty on your end, I recieved an email from Nubs and he still has some finished shafts. 13 1/4 mm, I have access to them if needed.
 
Mike, you are the man. I have a couple friends with Nova cues, if they need one, I'll be in touch also.:thumbup:
 
Hello to all, I know I have a couple of pm's also, I'm talking with Nubs to see the best way to handle getting the shafts, He is retired as some of you know and I wish him good health and a Happy retirement. He's earned it. As soon as we determine the right course of action, I'll be sure to post.

There should be enough to go around, all of the shafts have westinghouse micarta ferrules and moori tips. I'm working on the exact quantity of shafts.



Nubs is sending me 4 shafts, 2 are already sold. He will let me know about more as he gets time to sought thru them.

I talked with Nubs today, he has 6 shafts, 2, he is keeping for himself. He is sending me the 4 this week and they are sold, to the two Gentlemen I have already talked to. Thank you, I'll let you both know when I get them.
 
Michael.... I was hoping you could possibly help me acquire a Nova shaft?!?

Look no further, I have a Nova shaft for sale. Mine has the brass pilot, no worries about cracking. Just got off the phone with with one of the former owners/investers of Nova. He told me the brass were the early ones. shaft is like new, lightly played and just excellent. Selling only one.
