Pool table law suit!

On a side note, lawsuits SHOULD be filed against some of the so called "table mechanic's" who work on normal priced pool tables in this country:rolleyes: the Diamond 9ft Professional I'm working on right now is a joke, set up by a Brunswick distributorship in Hagarstown, MD:rolleyes:

Same guys that butchered mine, as you know! You had to fix it!

Does he allow jump shots?

The other thing I noticed is him apartment is all glass and I am guessing it would be pretty easy to skip a ball off the table.

I'm going to vote dumb and impractical all the way around but it's his money.

Isuedtoberich: I agree with your premise that the company should have fully explained to him this wasn't a normal pool table and therefore it will play differently and must be cared for differently. Unfortunately, this a just one more shining example of how nobody has common sense anymore. Nobody can be accountable for their actions anymore. Then again, if you pay $73,000 for a GLASS POOL TABLE you don't really have a firm grasp on reality. "I want a car made of cheese." "Hey, how come the mice are eating my car?"

I couldn't agree with you more.

$73,000 = (around 5 - 7) $10grand pro tables; (aprox. 14) $5 grand tables... it goes from there.

I pity that guy. I guess he just wanted to keep up with the Joneses. SMH

I'm just curious Glen, what would be your reaction if you showed up to work on a table and saw this waiting for you?

Sorry to hear of your troubles with the table your working on, but I guess you're used to that sort of thing by now.
And you're right about how some mechanics should get sued for their shoddy work. Just looking at some of the pics you have show here of other peoples work has left me scratching my head.

I agree. I paid a local mechanic $350 for the labor on my table and he ****ed it all up. It cost me $400 to get it fixed. So now I have right at 1k in recovering my table, new rails and recut pockets.

BTW,the mechanic that screwed me over is LARRY DYER out of east Texas. Don't let this dude touch your table !!!

Sorry to hear that. At least you now have a cobraized table. I would love to have a table that Glen has worked on and put back to right. But that will have to wait until I get a nice 9 footer.
Not much point in redoing my 8ft olhausen. Not that it's a bad table, it's just that I want to save for the last table I will own.

He didnt work on my table, I was just agreeing with what was said above and took the opportunity to bash LARRY DYER....lol.

All I have heard is good things about the cobra though.

Same old story - stupid person makes money. Stupid person sees stupid way to waste said money. Stupid person does something stupid resulting in destruction, injury, or death which could have been avoided by either reading the directions or common sense. Stupid person sues anyone and everyone in an attempt to deflect the obvious truth of the situation....
You can't fix stupid.

imagine doing a Mike Sigel type of break on this thing...bending the shaft into the table...the glass surface would just shatter...

I went to their website and saw their demo video...the breaker didnt even show a realistic hard break...

They shouldve included a free set of specialized pool balls just to avoid these type of issues...

How about making a jump shot. I bet that would be entertaining

On a side note, way to twist another thread into tooting your own horn ;)

I'm pretty sure it said in the article that it included their coated balls and a sealed envelope telling the owner to only use their balls. Of course, the envelope was seales so the attorney claims the company was "hiding" the special instructions by sealing them in an envelope. I say we take all 16 coated balls. load them in a tennis ball machine and have some fun with this moron

Really, spending $73K for glass pool table, and the first questions out of his mouth is NOT how do I prevent scratching the glass??

Oh, it's simple, you use only, and we mean only, the balls that we supplied with the table as the are specially coated. How else did he think the balls would "grab" if there was not some kinda a gimmick involved??

And $73K for some aluminum and glass ?? Yikes. Hell, I'd bought a Diamond with the works for $7K, and spent the other $66K and hired a model to rack for me, while topless, for a year.... but that's just how I roll
:)
