WRISTS - The "hidden power catalyst" of a great stroke or "just along for the ride"?

will be shifting my attention to Shane V., Brandon S,, Mike D., Dennis Hatch & J.A.

Cj, please answer one question. Is your DVD mostly filled with instruction or do you do it like Bert Kinister where one has to listen through 10 minutes of his "car salesman crap" for every 5 minutes worth of actual knowledge gained? Sorry, actually, 2 questions. Where do I go to buy it? You've got me curious now, I'll buy a copy and check it out. I promise to provide an objective opinion of it. I'm guessing there's at least several things that will make it worth the purchase price and who knows, it may be a great knowledge bargain. I assume this is going to cover the inside english and wrist cock in detail.

The one that I have out now is a combination of a three part series that I grouped on ONE DVD. It's 3/45 minutes videos and goes over 53 different topics in 17 "chapters". And like I've said here recently, I never released the techniques I'm talking about now. They were too advanced and you can see the resistance from "conventional players". After I released these three videos I retired for 10 years and am just recently returning to the Game. I've been putting my game back together the past two years with the help of guys like Hunter Lombardo, Johnny, Earl, Frost, Buddy Hall, and a few others that I talk to or "model".

My new DVD is just completed and will be out in a few weeks. It does have all the newest systems and techniques and I"m sure the "haters" will cringe than I'm trying to advertice them, but whatever, I guess they must all be of the "socialist mindset".

With my attention shifting to the MOSCONI CUP I won't be writing on here that much longer so I wanted to share as much as possible. I talked to Johnny Archer earlier and will be shifting my attention to Shane V., Brandon S,, Mike D. and Dennis Hatch to prepare for my Captain role and responsibilities coming in December 10-13 at York Hall / Mosconi Cup. I've got a few more days if anyone has any questions, comments or I can always be reached on Face Book. Aloha

Do you ever talk about Pool or just about my writing and your inability to understand? Plenty of people understand what I'm communicating. The reason you don't IS SIMPLE, you never try anything I'm suggesting.

I'm not doing anything fancy here, you can do the same. Describe your pendulem stroke or whatever lame stuff you do and I'm sure everyone will line up to experiece "Neil's Secrets to Mediocrity and Pool Purgatory" . I think you may have a "Best Seller" there and get you busy on something other than HECKLING me every day. :poke::groucho: 'The Game is the Teacher'

Aww, did poor CJ get butt hurt? I guess you can't handle the truth. Don't worry, English will be along soon to stroke your ego for you.

And, Mr. ESP, how would you know if I have tried any of it or not? Oh, that's right, you don't have that super power. I guess that's why you missed it when I stated that I have been using it. Long before you put it on here. You are getting close to describing it to where people can understand it, keep going. I imagine in only a few hundred more posts you might actually figure out yourself what you are actually doing so you can describe it simply and effectively. I'm pulling for ya! Keep at it! You have a bunch of people on here that don't bother to practice more than 5 minutes a week hanging on your every word hoping for that magic pill you have up your sleeve.

Finally, someone comes in and advocates thinking outside the box and trying new things with a pool stroke...........................

I'm fast approaching 60, never will be the player I was when 27--but I set a few fires under good players ass'es when the money was down and bet pretty high as that goes--The other day while praticing I started thinking I wasn't releasing the cue as I did back when and started letting my wrist loosen up some--worked real well--making tough shots and putting the cueball back on the string--read the first of this post early today--practiced a little while and then started to play, and just ran a nice 92 ball run after the second inning of play--I'm gonna listen some more--thanks for the time ya giving KID..My 2 cents issued

If you are referring to CJ, you have totally missed what he is saying. You are doing exactly what he says not to do.

The game is so much more enjoyable when the pieces come together.

Glad to hear that Chip. The game is so much more enjoyable when the pieces come together. I know it has been for me. 'The Game is the Teacher'

We're sorry Lou, we still Love you,

Your own posts betray you and show this to be false.

You're :welcome: Lou, we still Love ya, you will ALWAYS be our "average joe". You're like sunshine on a cloudy day.

Like I said, I'd be interested in purchasing the NEW DVD. If you post a link to purchasing here, great. If not, I'll do a search for it in a few weeks.

You didn't answer my question, however, about the similarity in style to Bert Kinister. I say that seriously. I subscribed to his unlimited online video deal. While his pool achievements were nowhere near to your own, I believe there is a fair amount of decent content to be taken from his videos. I just couldn't tolerate the time wasted listening to his rants and bullshit in between the actual content. LOL

All the arguing aside, I do wish you the best of luck and wishes for success with the Mosconi Cup Team.

dorabelle, you have been on here for two years. If you actually were serious about bettering your game, you would realize that CJ has put NOTHING on here that wasn't already here. He has, however, made quite the mess of describing things to where few have a clue what he is even talking about. And added a whole lot of B.S. to the simple principles.

Sorry, but just because a pro says he is putting out info that no one else has ever seen, doesn't make it so. All of you hanging on his every word have done nothing but show me that none of you really are interested in improving. If you were, you would already know what he is trying to describe, and where he is making a mess of it. All that info is HERE, RIGHT HERE ON THIS SAME FORUM. Nice to know that the info about twenty of us have been putting on here has been a waste of time on our part.

Yes, Sir, I'm familiar with the "Internal Arts". (Bagaua and the Filipino Fighting Sticks)...and this is where the root of my weapons training comes from. I've said on here that I look at the pool stroke as a martial arts form and yes, my ideas do not conform to traditional teaching (obvously from the reaction of these "instructors").

You are correct, the Kali attack will crush the bone, not just break it with the force generated. This is the motion I'm referring to, but unfortunately the hammer is the only thing familiar enough to compare it to. You will enjoy the game much more if you understand the Kali Movement. Kali does have a very powerful #2 hit! I didn't study Kali but I did study and then teach Serrada. Nothing like sparring in Serrada!!! If you haven't seen two good Serrada players spar, you're missing something!

My problem trying to use the Escrima wrist action in pool is keeping my wrist from twisting which prevents me from stroking straight enough. I do get a lot of power from my wrist because of the power I gained from Escrima.

let's just say it's unique and informative. 'The Game is the Teacher'

My content has no rants and BS...it's got 17 chapters of content that is considered by many to be.....well, I better not say it....LoL ......anyway, let's just say it's unique and informative. 'The Game is the Teacher' www.cjwiley.com

I'm suggesting BEFORE you get down on the ball it will keep your wrist from twisting

If you do as I'm suggesting BEFORE you get down on the ball it will keep your wrist from twisting. Feel that SLOT/Guide in your stoke doing some strokes in the air above the ball. FEEL the cue go slightly up and down "teeter totter style", but this is just to exagerate the feeling.

This will give you that type hinge in your wrist/fingers/hand , THEN make the cue go Straight using the same hinge/slot/guide. The cue will go straight with no twisting or turning in your hand. 'The Game is the Teacher'

CJ, I used to be able to drill a ball diagonally across a 10' snooker table and draw the cueball back to the corner it came from. Guys would ask me how I could do that and my reply was always "it's all in the wrist". And it was, I just couldn't adequately explain it.

Anyway, I can't do that anymore. :)

I'll listen to a pro player, world champion and top notch gambler waaayyy before I'll listen to a casual poster here on AZB.

Good job CJ

John

I was already logging in to say that CJ has shown more patience and deference to others than I ever could, given the responses here.

When was it so wrong for a person to share their ideas and thoughts about pool here? Because he doesn't say things the way you would, or see things the way you do? There are many roads up the same mountain- we don't all have to take the same paths, or follow the same leaders.

Shame on you lot also, for making fun of him trying to sell a dvd. Anybody else who wants to sell a chalk holder, cue, plastic rack, t-shirt or pay for their next teaching road tour should be on your hit lists too, then.

No wonder we don't have any pros on AZB- the self proclaimed experts here can't stand the competition of thoughts and words.

Now here is a very accurate post. I agree completely!
