Wasn't sure where to post this so I'll just post it here - has anyone else other than me been getting PM's from "towkey" from Malaysia? He has no posts but inquired about a cue I sold a month or so ago that he said he wanted to buy and then said I could sell it to his "friend" here in the US at my price and then he would ship it over to Malaysia. Sounds like a sure scam attempt of course. Just wanted to give a heads up.

Thats good advice. The guy from ScamAysia will pay for it and you will ship it to his friend in the US.

Mysteriously, the cue will not show up and you will get a charge back. Don't even consider dealing with these guys.

When you read the shipping on EBay ads and they state that they will not ship to Malaysia, Indonesia, etc, there is a good reason for it.

Sorry if words i said to you in pm made me look like a scammer... I'm a serious buyer who usually bought my equipments from seyberts and ebay... I've been lurking around this forum as a guest for quite a while... Just registered because really wanted to buy the jacoby jumper and there's no other way to contact you unless if i register... I tried to look for a cheaper jacoby jumper because i wanted to save money for an OB2 shaft for my playing cue rather than buying a new one from seyberts or nielsen billiards... My search for it brought me to your thread because the others i found are all sold... I suggested my friend's help because you seem hesitant to ship internationally but it become much worse... You said here that it was sold a month ago but you didnt mention it in your thread... If you had mentioned it i wouldn't tried to contact you and this wouldn't happened... Never saw anyone mentioned that you must post before you can deal with someone in Wanted/Sale... If i really wanted to scam i would go for something much more expensive... Now my reputation is done in just a day after i registered... Never thought something like this would happen to me... I'm just a poor guy trying to get something cheaper... So sorry if i wasted your time... Thank you...

Of course this douchebag from Malaysia is a scammer but I have a question on the chargeback thing. That's true with an eBay transaction but how about in a private transaction such as would be the case with a sale here? Will PayPal still do that?

wow i talked nicely here and you're being so rude... contacting you was really a big mistake i made... if i wasn't sincere i would avoid this thread...

Tow key if you are being truly sincere, I suggest this...

If / when you attempt to purchase something from here on AZ in the future, and want to utilize your contact here in the States, have your friend pay the seller with a certified check or money order. Also be willing to let that check clear before the item is shipped to your friend.

Building a reputation here is nowhere near as easy as it used to be, unfortunately for you...and your place of residence does not help you as you probably know.

Good luck to you.

Surely you're not serious.

Thank you for the suggestion Kobachi... will keep that in mind... well i guess no luck for me to get cheap one... i'll just go and buy a new one instead... to BogeyFree i wont bother you... just you need to adjust your attitude as a seller IMO there is no need to be rude... you should just say no politely if you feel it's a risky deal... Just think how you feel if you're in my position...

I am serious, and stop calling me Shirley

First of all my ad clearly stated I would sell to a buyer in the ConUS only so Towkey had no business contacting me to begin with. After that didn't work is when he told me about his third party "friend" who would act as the middleman. Accepting a "certified check" or "money order" or "bank check" from a third party en route to someone in Malaysia is one of the oldest scams in the history of the internet. That's just a fact of life. You deposit the check and the money shows up in your account and you send out your item. 3 weeks later (and the scammer knows this) your bank notifies you the check was fraudulent, fake, whatever and they withdraw the funds from your account with interest and also a penalty for depositing it to begin with and your sheeet out of luck, with your item now long gone. I would never accept that method of payment from anybody, domestic or otherwise.

But i didn't see any ConUS "only" u stated... and the first time i PMed you i did ask do you ship internationally... If you dont want to you should just say sorry i dont ship internationally is it that hard... But you reply back "How are you gonna pay for it"

I don't know how well you understand English but let me explain something to you. My ad said I would sell to a buyer in the ConUS. Period. So let's not play with words about whether it said "only" or not. Who cares? So you even responding was enough to begin to annoy me. So sensing a scam about to take place yes I went back and forth with you a cuppla times just to see what you were gonna say. As soon as you mentioned your third party "friend' is when I pulled the plug. Are you legit? Sure it's possible. But I'm not willing to take that chance. Sorry.

Are you legit? Sure it's possible.

This quote of yours would seem to conflict just a bit with this thought on the same subject, also stated by you , "Of course this douchebag from Malaysia is a scammer"

You start with him being a "possible scammer", then you move on to "of course" and throw in a personal insult, now you are to "possibly legit". Its good to cover all bases.

Thanks

Kevin

See you should just say no that time... There will be no deal and i buy from somewhere else that is much easier to deal with... End of story... But advertising me as a scammer here isn't that too much...

How much was this cue worth?

the deal that never was......

Seller could have offered to be paid by bank wire transfer with an agreement to ship to the buyer's contact here in the states.....done.
