Best Sneaky

Depends on what you can afford!
Hanshew
Hills
Sugartree
OB
Josey
Sauer
Carter

IMHO

Hi,

Darrin Hill makes his own blanks, cores his full splice and uses different wood combos in the blank. He offers one great playing cue that fits one's playability wants and needs.

it's a difficult question. I suspect you'll only get opinion as a result of personal choice. If its any good to you i personally think either Jacoby or Joss. All the best with your question.

Is it possible to get one of your shaft that does not has low deflection?

I mean one that deflect like a conventional maple shaft.

I guess my question to that would be, Why?

If it's the feel and sound of the conventional maple shaft that you're looking for, then the Classic line offers that. Many think that low cue ball squirt or deflection is tied directly to our shafts being laminated. This isn't really the case. We use laminated materials for consistency, strength, durability etc.

If you feel that high cue ball squirt or deflection is necessary to perform certain shots, then I have to disagree with that also. Except for the jump shot, low cue ball squirt or deflection is simply a matter of aiming.

Every time a player changes cues or cue shafts, whether it be a LD shaft or not, that player has to adjust to the different cue ball squirt for that shaft. Players do that very often and without difficulty. Switching to a LD shaft is basically the same adjustment.

So, I guess to answer your question, no we don't offer our cues with traditional shafts. We feel that, from a performance standpoint, they are an inferior product. We also feel that we offer many models of cue shafts that give the player choices of many different cue shafts so they can pick a cue shaft that fits their preferences.

I hope that helps!

I was thinking to get one of your sneaky without the shaft being low deflection. I have played with a couple of laminated shafts that are not low deflect and yes, I do know low deflect has nothing to do with laminated shaft.

I have played with L/D shaft since the late 90's for about 6 years or so. So I have no problem aiming with a l/d shaft. I just don't like the parrallel aiming versus the aiming system that I use for a high deflection shaft. Having said that I do teach others that are having difficulty playing english with a L/D shaft.

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to respond. Btw it is a nice looking sneaky.

Here is a thread of someone commenting about the cue.

Sorry guys, was inactive dealing with hurricane Sandy here in NJ. Really through a wrench in every day life. But glad to say with gods will and one day at a time. Things are starting to smooth out and the clean up process can begin. Back to the topic at hand, I was in South Carolina for a few days. TAP Nationals team event and singles event. (Shot HORRIBLE BTW) But was able to shoot a couple of racks with a Hanshaw sneaky owned by Nate a guy I met from Canada. I liked the hit felt pretty well balance and could see myslef getting used to it. He wasnt selling it though. He said his friend had a Scruggs sneaky for sale but was unable to get in touch with him. Heard alot from Hills sneaky also. So i guess I will keep doing research and start narrowing it down. The input from all of you is very much appreciated.

Pechauer sneaky

Question for all the experienced and knowledgable people that contribute to this forum with the best intentions. Who is building the best sneaky at the moment? I'm looking to get one made and want the best, trustable builder. I was looking online for a Scruggs and other sneaky's but some people are asking for an arm an a leg for a cue that needs some serious overhauling. Just looking for some opinions and possibly a few leads.

Thanks in advance : )

Sent using hand held iDevice.

I'd add the Pechauer sneaky to the list suggested by others...

Probably too many options to get a good consensus in this thread. But to offer my opinion, I recommend Rick Howard. I've owned close to 10 sneakies and like the Howard the best.

Green or Red Predators.I had an older green one with a 5x1614
joint and felt great and uniloc wood to wood Red one that plays
just as awesome and a little stiffer.I've always found the Predator
sneakys always felt good.

Might I suggest then to contact Hanshew Custom Cues?

The input from all of you is very much appreciated.
Well, since you're asking for more input, I'll throw in my two and half centimos.

The best Sneaky Pete I've had the pleasure of playing with happens to be:

A production Huebler SP.

Freddie <~~~ YMMV, of course

I have to agree with you on the Huebler Hustler. Paul Huebler made great cues and his Hustler was a full splice.

Pierce Sneaky Pete

I have a Pierce Sneaky Pete that hits better than most playing cues I have played with. It has a great tapper on both the shaft and butt. Stiff hard hit that is perfect for Bar Tables IMO. Get a hold of him the last I spoke to him he has a few Sneaky Petes in the works and could get it out pretty quick.

Another vote for Jim Pierce's sneaky petes. Definately a lot of cue for the money.

I have had a Dufferin for quite a while now and am very happy with it.
Then again, im lucky i can hit the side of a barn on a good day.

I don't know if there is any "best sneaky".

These are all real good ones:

Bob Frey
Bludworth (red dot)
Judd Fuller
Richard Harris
Tim Scruggs

I have had sneakies from all of the above except for Bludworth and agree 100%. They are all great cues.

Sugartree sneakies are pretty damn awesome as well.

Judd and Frey probably being the best bang for your buck and easiest to find.

whats about omen sneakies? seen some with awesome landscape cocobola, but i dont know how they play

Paul made one for Fred and Barney, before wood was invented. Nawwwwwwww he aint quite that old but you can get a great hitting cue with a Dayton.

What he said !

I've had a Meucci made in '79, a Scruggs, and a Frey. I had quite a cue collection at one time, including a high-end Dayton. The Dayton played the best of them all. Most of them were stolen and the rest sold when I retired. The one cue I will NEVER sell is my ebony Dayton sneaky with old shaftwood and an ivory ferrule. Nuff said...Tom

sneakies are good for the full splice, so any high-end production cue or your favorite cue maker is gonna be good. Sneakies these days can come with intricate ringwork and any type of joint. do u like wood-wood or a steell joint or phenolic? what it really comes down to is a shaft. Sneakies are just for look, if your gonna secure a spot from a custom cue maker I suggest getting a real custom otherwise go for a production cue. Mezz is the hottest brand right now, or get a predator or OB or even tiger and when you want to change you'll have the shaft to put on it.:idea::idea::wave3::wave3::wave3::wave2::yeah:

Sneaky.

Paul Dayton IMO great great player. My weapon of choice.
I will throw into the Mix a fury SP4 real good sneaky for the $ you know it's a real sneaky when someone takes it off table you are on thinking its a house cue. Seriously wile the guy was walking away with the cue I nicely asked for it back. No prob. Honest mistake. Very funny to see his expression

His sneakies play jam up. I see a lot of then since I live in the same town as he does. Plus I think they are some of the best looking sneakies on the market today.
