I would guess Amboyna burl ... if it is curly maple, it's the craziest I've seen.

I am no wood expert but it does not look like Maple or Anboyna Burl to me.
It does have some cool grain.
Maybe Koa or Tasmanian Blackwood.

I didn't peg the color as Bubinga, but maybe ... because of the pattern. I still say if it is curly maple or any maple, I will be shocked, although others seem to be certain, so what do I know.
