8-ball, Do I rake the balls after the break if he has an open table?

Ok, stupid question, I admit it. Raking? What's raking? While I work on my game all the time I sometimes feel that my pool acumen is sorely lacking, help a brother out...

What in the world has happened to this forum in the past few .... whatevers?

Freddie <~~~ ready to punch someone in the bottom two holes

1% is still greater than 0%

If you're playing someone that gets out 100% of the time, then you're pretty bad at matching up.

You are forfeiting your chance of winning the game for the sake of not letting your opponent get loose, and the benefit of you not having to sit in the electric chair. DO YOU STILL NOT GET THE TRADE OFF????

This is raking.

I've been responsible for the only interesting discussions on the main forum for the past several days.

What, would you rather discuss your new pool table cover, or your new tip? Come now, let's start speaking the truth.

If you need to make idiotic posts to be interesting, I guess that's your prerogative.

By the way, one of our all-time great players, Earl, used to use this very same technique. You cannot say that it is so ridiculous when Earl himself does it!

Ok as much as I love Earl and respect his skill level. We all know that most of the time Earl is not the sharpest tool in the box. I would never give a game away because its an easy runout. You never know what is going to happen ( missed shot, poor position play or just a bad damn roll)

As far as letting your opponent get in stroke, I would not want anything less that way there are no excuses. I bet you your opponent would not have given you the same respect.

Most people here find my posts very informative, and many have actually been learning the game by reading my threads! Could I have provided anything more to the forum than that?

Your posts? you haven't givin an opionon on anything you ask foolish questions and stir the pot thats all you do.

What opinions have you shared with us? You always need to have more people give thier thoughts on whatever topic you started and you never share your take on anything.

I am inspiring deep thought on the subject. My dialectic approach stimulates more interest and more participation than the rhetorical approach. I am providing the foundation for a robust discussion on each topic brought forth.

And perhaps you may one day come to realize that there is a reason why I am putting forth these questions to you. And that each of your replies are extremely important.

The great Bobby Legg.

I been around pool for over 30years, there was one player that would do something like what you are saying but it was in 9ball, Bobby Legg would break the balls playing 9ball and every once in awile if he didnt make a ball he would get so mad at himself that he would rake all the balls and go down and rack for his opponent or if Bobby would miss a easy shot he would get mad and rake em and this was while they were gambling too, But Bobby would only do this cause he was mad at himself, didnt have nothing to do with his opponent, i couldnt believe it the first time i seen Bobby do this (i was betting my money on him) who ever knew Legg knew that he was a perfectionist, i got Bobby to the side after he did this and calmly ask him to try and not do that again cause he was giving our money away, Bobby Legg had as much abillity as any person that ever played pool!

And if this is the case, you sorely need work on your mental game.

Is it just me, or are most of your threads about "how to shoehorn a 'move' into one's game"? I don't think I've seen a thread from you yet that wasn't a question of how to either skirt the rules, or else attempt a "move" to weasel-in some kind of "advantage" that's not in the best interest of sportsmanship.

But then again: 1.) I don't play in any of those region- or nation-wide leagues (only in-house), thus not having to deal with those most-oft-talked-about "league match-altering techniques" like that; and 2.) I play mostly 14.1 and one pocket, where shark moves like that are not tolerated.

-Sean

Hate to dispute you, Sean, but I've played in the biggest (and supposedly worst) of the national leagues for 3 years now, and have never seen anyone pull a dick move like any of the ones PocketBanks has mentioned, in any of his threads or posts.

He never gives his opinion, merely stirs the $hit.

Write us another Manifesto, PP.

How is you asking about rigging racks, not calling fouls on yourself and all the other threads you started do anything that you said it does? please tell me as I really dont see it. and as I seen in all your threads 95% of the people did not agree with what you were trying to say. I would love to see you put this effort into starting threads on a topic other then something contraversial that makes everyone comment to you on a negitive note and then it would be a great discussion. If you start a topic make sure you share your opionons on as you will gain some respect from other posters. I figure you are young and think that you are smarter then everyone else and you may be new to the game of pool, I am not that young or new to the game and I have more respect for myself, opponents and the game to even think about learning how to rig racks or distract my opponent or any other things you have brought forward as topics because I wouldnt be able to look myself in the mirror and this game is alot more fun when you play on the level and win on your own merits then to even think about little ways to cheat and I really hope you get to that part of the game, you seem like you have a passion it just needs to be put in the right direction. I will no longer read any of your threads that are not about the game and about some dishonest move to try and win games. I would read posts about real pool questions or topics and would like to hear what you think about the game.
