Chris Banks Must Be Allowed To Use A Calculator

Pool always tries to equalize.
It's communistic, actually.
Can't understand why it is an American game.

People who cannot walk can play from a wheelchair.

Short players can use a rest and a cue extension.

Poor players are given handicaps.

Bettors give odds.

Chris Banks should be allowed a calculator to compensate for his deficiency.

Casey Martin with the PGA paved the way for people with disabilities, successfully suing the PGA enabling him the use of a cart.

Don't let this turn ugly.

They broke the mold with you buddy...

and then beat the mold maker with the pieces... :p

CB is a post whore like I havn't seen in a while, but he does occasionally make a couple decent posts. IDK, I just ignore his threads if they look dumb.

best,

Justin

Justin,

Know CB quite well. If you had the opportunity to meet him, I guarantee you will like him. He is quite serious about the game of pool. In my view, he tries too hard to improve. Very technically oriented. Perhaps to excess. Your concept of viewing each thread and post individually rather than placing him on your "Ignore" list is a reasonable solution. As he is a bank pool enthusiast in an area where the game is not played speaks volumes.

I don't mind the kid. Hell I don't have a single person on my ignore list. My reasoning is that you can't poke fun at stupid shit people say, if you don't know they said it! :p

I think the kid has a lot of enthusiasm that could be better spent with the search function and practice.

best,

Justin

Very good information to know about a fella. Sometimes on the intarwebs people troll in such a way that they post a lot of threads just looking for a fight. It is good to know Chris is the real deal. I am ridiculed by my peers in the pool hall occasionally for over thinking so I can relate. :)

Thanks Lyn!

Yeah, nice that somebody can vouch for this dingbat. If he asks even a quarter of the stupid questions in life that he does on this board, he'd be walked out and locked out. If even one of those things came up in a game and was seriously considered, that would be the last game I ever played with him. He could be the owner's son for all I care, it doesn't make his questions any less ridiculous or his constant bombardment of stupidity any less annoying.

Lyn, kick him in the balls for everybody(or, at the least, very many) here.

Thanks and sorry.

There are NO stupid questions....

I understand your point of view but I face comments like yours often. I faced them in the thread where I was asking about contact time. So what. I want to know so I ask. You already know or don't care so you move past it. We both do what we see as best!

We're good...no anger here. I just understand where he is coming from...even if he is further out there than even I am.

There are stupid questions, my teachers were just trying to make me feel better! I could deal with a question here or there about odd things.. but, when he goes on tilt and posts up as many obnoxious threads as he can think of, pilfering topics and talk from other threads, it gets old real quick. He does it just like PocketPoint, which he sounds like to me. He posts up assinine situations, waits for people to counter, then just starts running them around in circles. He's a pain in the arse and wants everybody to know it.

Now, don't you have money to go spend? :p

i agree, also if he were to play an average player from this site, i would have my money on the average p[layer

ROFL! Just because I won it don't mean I gotta spend it! ;)

Back on topic...

Then leave him be. If it bugs you to read all his spew then...don't

I gotta admit the calculator thread was pretty lame though. Seriously... lol

jhansen said it best earlier in this thread.

Anyways... ;)

Ken

p.s. the are no stupid questions :eek::grin:

Banks,

In my very biased opinion, Chris is the real deal. He really tries hard to understand bank angles. Throwing a bank is just not completely understood. He practices frequently. In his view, the questions he asks are to help HIM understand. It's a shame you think he's a dingbat. Bet some of the questions you asked early in your playing time might have been equally rediculous. Mine were. Don't want to admit what Mr. Crane said to me. As Okie said, if you don't like his posts, put him on your ignore list. Barring that, just ignore him. That is unless you just want to denigrate him for fun. As I mentioned to Jason earlier in this thread, once you meet him you'll see he's OK. Just a little too technical.

I'm going to take this recommendation to heart.
Lyn is one of our most astute posters and I respect what he says.

ChrisBanks has a curious mind...who are we to settle him down?
He may be our mad scientist who comes up with a winner....most
innovators get some ridicule until they hit paydirt.

But I'm still going to have some fun.....
...some things you just have to eat, Chris.

If you put a pig-skin tip on a perfectly straight cue....
...will it have a 'tapir' roll?

Sean, I wanna be remembered for having the worst jokes ever....
...I've been driving people nuts since I was old enough to talk.

...my mother cried a lot....:o

You know, it's difficult to come up with a new topic that has not been discussed a hundred times.

I think deep down, alot of my critics enjoy the discussion, even though they may not admit it.

Truthfully I have never had an intention of bringing a calculator to the table.

But you must be willing to admit that the SID system is deadly accurate once applied to a specific table. And if you wish to multiply 2.4 x 4.8 a calculator could be handy.

Notice the disparity of the criticism between my calculator thread, and the threads regarding the bank shot calculator.
