Have you ever made a $10,000 10 ball?

Well I have! I got drawn last week in Jamaica Joe's break and run pot. It was the second time I had been drawn in a year. The first time I got drawn I got unlucky when the cue ball was kissed into the corner pocket at the head of the table. So this was my first real shot at it and I pulled it off!

The run can be viewed at http://www.justin.tv/jamaicajoes/b/353547947

I don't normally play this slow but hey, it was for ten grand! I never pulled the trigger until my mind and routine was right! I might ought to try to do that more often!

I had partners in this venture but there is no price you can put on the feeling I had during this run!

Enjoy...I sure did!

Ken

Could not happen to a better guy. Not only have you been putting in the table time to improve your already great game but you also have put in plenty of time to bring Oklahoma City area pool to us through JJ's streaming.

Very inspiring Ken. Now I know what Chip meant when he congratulated you on FB.

Ken and many others will tell you how hard he has worked on his game recently. We all dream of the big day, the moment, and all that comes afterward. Some will never get there but Ken grabbed the gold ring and held on till the ride stopped. If they took a vote and said who do we really want to win this thing, Ken would have gotten his share of votes. Jamaica Joes has been putting itself on the map for quite some time, and now even more kudos for their fine establishment. All Diamond tables and great food. Just remodeled. I better go see what the improvements are! Almost appropriate that he is an AZ member!! Congrats Ken. What you going to do now? Stop the recession? Run for governor? Pool is alive in Okla.!!

Thanks! I doubt anyone would want me in politics. I would most likely lose all civility and break out the AK47s! lol

But you're right! Pool is alive in Oklahoma and Jamaica Joe's is leading the charge! Hats off to Shane and Jessica for what they have done at Jamaica Joe's!

But to answer your question. I will continue working during what time life allows me to improve my game. If I can master the 9' Diamonds like I have the barbox, you'll see me signing up to play with the big boys. I would guess right now I am playing at about a 6 speed on the 9 footers though. Lots of work required!

But one thing is for sure....if I get a shot you can bet I take it!

I liked the way you hit the combo after the break....
...you were very still...not perfect, but you hit it like a champ.
Well worth watching a few times, Okie.

You got a lot of heart.

My "real" training started with you Ingo. I hit thousands of those straight ins!!

Thanks!

Ken

Well buddy
How i already said before:
Clearly easy to see that u put on the necessary table time.
Xou do now some important things subconsciosly which you haven t done before:D
To push someone into the right direction is oftrn hard and boring.(for the plaxer/student)
Appreciate that some of the important parts really took fruits.

I've been waiting all day to watch this. Effing Epic Out! That's an EEO.

You are in the .000001% of pool players that get to taste this big of a thrill.

The only other thought that comes to mind is that it might have been sweet to create a $10,000 runout thread where you don't reveal if you win or not.

I just watched it after work .. it was EPIC!!! Drama from start to the end. First 5 shots were the nutz.

I shake and sweat over a $100 set so can't imagine what it's like to shoot for 10K. Congrat!!!

Not that it makes any difference to your accomplishment but wanted to know if that was Diamond 8 footer or 9 footer?

I feel very fortunate! I actually thought about it but I was too excited to sit on it!

Thanks!

7 footer

And it definitely makes a difference. I have no illusions about my abilities. I have a LOT of work to do before I can say I can actually play this game.

Thanks!

I've never seen an 8 ft diamond... Just 7ft, 9ft and now 10ft...

But that looks to me like a barbox....

Amazing feat regardless Ken.... Congrats and tx for sharing....

I got a rush just watching, seriously...

Had to feel like destiny when you rattled the 4 home....

The time you took on the stop shot on 8 shows just how big this rack was... You could not get a comfortable bridge or settled.... on a shot you would just get down and drill 1k times out of 1k... You did the right thing by getting up and resetting a few times....

Well played sir....

I appreciate the comments! I would add that at my skill level...1k out of 1k ain't my numbers on that 8! I have hit thousands of straight ins in my practice. I would say I am about 90-95% on the make and the drill was to follow the ball in which I only accomplished about a third of the time. Add in 10k on the line, the funky bridge, 10k on the line, me talking to the crowd, 10k on the line, my knowledge of how I perform, and the 10k that was on the line and now you really know why I was taking so much time! ;)

Sometimes the numbers mean nothing...you just gotta take a deep breath, believe it will happen, and FIRE!

Thanks!

Ken
