sfleinen from AZ playing Jersey Joey at the SBE

I haven't seen or herd from Joey in over a year, has anyone seen him lately?

Aw man, you just killed all of Sean's action...

He's suppose to only know how to play 14.1...

LOL,

N0 info on Joey.

Joey's clearly a good player - is he a pro?
Yes Joey is a pro. He was mentored by Allen Hopkins.

He could be, sfleinen looks to play at about an apa 4 or 5 level.
It's hard to judge a player by one match. Everyone plays a bad set every now and then. With that being said, isn't Sean a self proclaimed 100 ball runner? I'm not doubting his accomplishments but it seems to me like he's a low B player at best.

Sean says he's a 130+ breaker at snooker - anyone that makes regular 100 breaks at snooker is a good player.

ps you a Spurs fan?

Was the op trying to show off his 'bro's' game or did he have something else in mind? My sense is the latter and so I went to red rep him only to find that he is no longer with us. His was a 10 post visit here on az.

Sean Leinen is a friend of mine and a very good man. Like the overwhelming majority of us here on az, along with being an avid pool enthusiast, he has adult responsibities that take up plenty of time in his life.

Sean decided to put up some of his hard-earned cash for the chance to play in the pro event at Valley Forge. I say good for him!

Does Sean play at pro speed? Maybe not.

But I will say that he sure can catch a BIG gear and this I have seen with my own two eyes.

I know that he has done very well in tournaments he's played in, and, in fact, he won last years Joss Tour qualifier held in CT.

There are a couple of things that I hope aren't lost on anyone who watched the match linked in this thread:

You have a guy who does not play in events of this caliber very often, at all. Then, because of Alvin's (Inside Pool) friendship with Joey Testa, Sean finds himself playing on the TV table. I don't care who you are, if you're not a pro who is accustomed to playing on TV tables, this will definitely add some pressure.

Sean plays much better than what we got to see here. And that's a fact.

And I'm proud of him for giving it a go at Valley Forge.

best,
brian kc

You were going to red rep somebody for posting a public video of another member playing? I'm sorry, but that seems remarkably petty to me.

Here we go again. And by the time I saw this, the OP was already banned, so it must be a duplicate alias of someone from my "fan club."

For the last time:
That day I was playing, I was suffering a SEVERE bout of sinusitis and accompanying headache. I WAS IN NO SHAPE TO PLAY THAT DAY AT ALL, even the tournament director, Frank DelPizo, noticed it. I should've forfeited out. But Frank DelPizo convinced me to play, because Alvin Nelson of InsidePool selected this match to stream because he wanted to see Joey Testa play. And if you listen to the commentary, you'll notice the commentators mention it as well -- they saw me in pain in my seat. Joey Testa is a known pro player (and a great guy), so let's skip the "beating about the bush." And anybody who knows me / has played me knows that I play MUCH BETTER THAN THAT.

But of course, my "fan club" can't help with the adoration.

Tim, was the OP's alias one of yours, so you'd have a backdoor to ping me once again?

-Sean

I was going to red rep him for what I interpreted as meansprited intent.

You have any idea why he's no longer an az member?

Good post KC. I would hate to see how I look when I am not having one of my best days.....For that matter how I look when I am having one of my best days:eek:.

Sean made it to Denver a couple years back and jumped into one of the larger local tourneys and snapped it off if I remember correctly.

Thank you, Brian (Kickin' Chicken)!

I don't know the reason for why this match was brought up out of the blue, except to "ding" me once again -- by TheThaiger, as a prime example. And it's not like I'd been posting a lot of late, either. So something's fishy here with the screenname that posted this -- and of the motivation behind it.

As you correctly say, I don't get to play in events of this caliber often at all. In fact, you can probably count the number of times per year on a hand that has been through a sheet metal cutter accident. (Figure of speech -- my hands are fine.)

And thank you for taking the time to vouch for the fact that I do play much better than this. Everyone has a bad day, and that day was certainly mine with the bout of sinusitis and sinus headache -- added to the pressure of being on the TV table, which I dare anyone who has not been in this situation to try.

I will play in that event again in this year's SBE, and I invite anyone who wants to judge my playing, to come watch my matches. I will bring my sinus meds this year (unlike that year), so that I'm prepared if there's a sudden change in weather as there was that year. I will make sure to put on a much, much better showing.

Thanks again, my friend,
-Sean

Happy New Year to you and your family, Sean.
I do not think you have to prove anything to anyone. You know what shape you were in during that match. And at least you played and made a showing and that is great! This is my opinion. if the guy that made that post wants to play you then he can find out first hand how good you play, and how bad he plays.
I have no idea why people want to hammer somebody all the time! Makes no sense to me at all! If I cannot say something good about a person, I do not say anything.

He could be, sfleinen looks to play at about an apa 4 or 5 level.

While he doesn't look to be very impressive here, you have to remember something:

1) He's playing a pro-level player who's game is known to be very strong

2) He's playing on a tv table. Nerves alone from something like that can be difficult to overcome.

3) ANYONE can have a bad day. But one bad day on a tv table can follow you for the rest of your life.

1 + 2 + 3 = a LOT of pressure. Moral of the story... never judge someone's speed by one match. If so, there are probably 20,000+ members here who would LOVE to gamble with ya!

:p

When I was a hustler a long time ago, this would of been a good advertisement for people to come play me. I love it when people think I'm easy.

Even today I tell people I just hit 'em hard and get lucky.

I like what you said when you said what you said! Whew! I guess I got that right!

I'm not sure what you said, but I think I like what you said...it's a beautiful day here in PA. The sun is shining and that is a good thing.

One day closer to Sprint car racing. Starts at the end of next month in my front yard.

Pool cues for sale and cats are free....

Sean, the difference between my worst match and my best match is the
'rainbow crush'....and often for the same reason.

I got sinus and migraine headaches for years....I would get tunnel vision...
...and sometimes the opposite (could only see perepherally).
Bright lights could trigger it so I would avoid those round light shades
with incandescent bulbs.

About 20 years I was carrying something heavy up two flights of stairs....
...and I was in a rush....as I rounded the last corner, I got the worst
nose-bleed since Carolyn MacMillan punched me in the nose in grade 7.
Maybe there was something to the practice of bleeding that the old
doctors used to do, 'cause I haven't had a headache since.

Playing with a hat or a visor is not a bad idea.

And kudos for Brian speaking up.....
Maybe some of these detractors will make a game with you based on
their evaluation of your talent in this match......I'M IN.

regards
pt
