Called Diamond today to see if they were running the $400 single platter ball polisher deal they had last year during Derby.

Informed the deal was on again this year, I asked if I had to pick it up at the Derby or if they'd ship it to me.

Was told they would ship from the factory, so I ordered one.

So just in case anyone is interested, you don't have to be at or in the DCC to grab one.

And yes, everyone knows you can make your own with a 5-gallon bucket, etc. Just offering the info direct from Diamond.

Thanks for the tip. I just emailed Diamond today to ask about pricing for a single platter polisher shipped. I haven't heard back yet, but if they don't reply with $400, I'll mention the DCC special!

I'm hoping this discount works for me too. I've been waiting to get one of these since October.

$400 is the sale price. $450 is the retail price. Single platter - 8 balls at a time. I think retail on the dual platter 16-ball version is $700, and have no idea if a "Derby discount" is available.

I think the guy I spoke to at Diamond was Brandon, but I don't think you'll have a problem getting the sale price from any of the salespeople.

The guy also told me there was maybe a half-hour break-in period before the polisher gets into its usual spiraling of the balls for maximum effectiveness.

He was also high on the Meguiar's Ultimate Detailer as the cleaner/polisher which comes in a spray bottle.

His second favorite was the Aramith ball cleaner liquid but recommended watering it down to a spray.

Thanks

Just got off the phone with Diamond, The deal is still on. Dont know how much longer. Ordered mine... Charlie D

Ordered two weeks ago today. Still don't have it. Not impressed.

Salesman told me it would ship early the week of Feb 4 at the latest.

Chicago is one day shipping from anywhere in Indiana.

Reminds me of the old joke:

How can you tell when a salesman is lying? His lips are moving.

Well maybe they are a little backed up because of the derby. Give it a few more days. Guy I talked to said he had to put them together. I called on 1/29 and it has been shipped with expected delivery on 2/13.

I saw these at the Derby and for the life of me, I don't see the value add for $400. One of the locals here has the 5 gallon bucket setup and I was kinda impressed. I am not bashing the Diamond setup, just curious what makes it so pricey and is it worth it?

It works and is pretty easy to clean and replace the carpet when you need to, plus it looks good.
DIY is almost always cheaper and if you've seen one of the machines up close it doesn't take a rocket engineer to figure out how to make one yourself.

Time is money and for those that value their time the $400-$450 is well worth what might take them a weekend to do if they had all the parts on hand.

I put one of the bucket style ones together in a half hour. If it would take someone a weekend to do it, I would STRONGLY suggest paying the 400 to get the Diamond one. Please don't hurt yourself. :)

Post a picture of yours and I'll post a picture of mine. I wonder which one looks better?

I'm sure yours works just fine and will last just as long. For my aesthetics and the image I want to portray in my home, I prefer the diamond.

Used the quick detailer. Not all that impressed. I have shiny chalk marks on the cue ball. :(
Is there a cleaner that should be used first?
