As I understand, it was a company out of North Dakota that made 1st gen 314 shafts, 2nd Gen were moved to over-seas production.

I believe that it was samsara who made the original 314's. but someone will have to confirm that.

The original Predator 314 was USA made....
...they came in 6 or 12-piece shafts, with longer ferrules.
I believe the 10-piece shafts were first produced by Falcon of Canada....
...but Samsaras were in the mix also.

I'd bet 100 that the regular non-special edition "Butts" were made in Canada by Falcon. I'd bet another 100 that the 314-1 shafts were made in Florida.

Many of the 314s were made by Falcon....the blanks were shipped to
Florida for final finishing and fitting.
I bought a lot of Falcons in the 90's.
It's not something to bet on because not all the 314s were made by Falcon.

Thank you for the information. I guess that means I'm a new owner of a North American made Pechauer/Predator 314 combo.

I just called predator and they stated the old 314's where made in Jacksonville. I asked if they where made at the falcon factory and Steve said no, Florida. FYI.

Ah, I guess I got it reversed....saw lots of the 314 blanks at Falcon.
thanx

The original 314 blanks were cut and assembled in Jacksonville then sent to Falcon in Canada to be turned, they were returned to Florida to be finished i.e. joint work/ front end engineering/ ferrule/ tip.

In Florida by who?

In Florida...by who???
Just wondering which company?

They were finished by Predator themselves as they were returned from Falcon as a solid shaft then the front end was enhanced with their patented technology, a ferrule/tip was installed and then it was finish sanded and waxed. If you were to quantify the labor involved at the time I would have to say it would be something like Predator 70% with Falcon at 30%, the most crucial and sensitive processes were handled in Jacksonville Florida at Predator Products.

The company was originally called Clawson Cues and it was in Jacksonville by the time I was there in 1998. It sure looked like they were making shafts at that location.

The first ad for the 314 I can find is on pages 2-3 of the July 1995 issue of Billiards Digest. It was a two-page spread with a picture of Iron Willie and a six-section shaft. An ad later in the same issue lists them as "Clawson Cues" in Clawson, Michigan.
