Harvey Martin

The more I look at other HM's it does fit the profile! (some unique features though)

Bert S. Still the best person to contact for ID on these? Anyone know?

i thought HM as well, i'm not a expert on HM cues, just been around a long time. has HM elements and feel/impression. however there are more than snuff reasons it might not be. i'd say 60% chance its HM.

Thanks Fatboy, may I ask who the other 40% chance might be?

I really don't think it is a Martin.

Do I see letters stamped on the metal joint face of one of the shafts?

Maybe a W and a J? There might be more.....

Anybody else see that? What about the OP? Any info on that matter?

.

Look in the Billiards Encyclopedia, it looks just like the very first cues Harvey Martin made. Later HM switched to the familiar ivory joint with 3/8-10 aluminum pin in the butt. I'll see if I can take a pic of the pictures in the Encyclopedia when I get home from skiing.

I believe the answer to your question is no, though I don't know who the current best contact would be. If I recall correctly, Bert is no longer with us.

I have got to get one of those books! LOL!

That would be really cool if it was an early Martin! If it is, I have never seen one like that, it would be quite new to me. I simply didn't think it was a Martin, but in view of your info I'll retract that.

I just looked in my 1st edition Billiards Encyclopedia at the pictures of Harvey Martin cues and while the general style is close I saw nothing that would lead me to believe it is a Martin cue from the small number of pictures that are there. The pin looks nothing like what is shown in the book.
I am certainly far from an expert on his cues, just an observation.

I have the 2nd Edition at home, I'll be back tomorrow and share pics.

I'd like to see both! Please!
