Ok I am in the middle of getting all the items for my dream cue that I am building. I know a few builders like Chris Hightower did Gem stones and what I am looking at is 4mm diamonds 6mm Rudy's and sapphires with 7x9 oval emeralds.

Question 1 what can I use to inlay them in and what glue or epoxy?

Next and this one is killing me. I and going to do 14k gold rings and I am having a XXXXX of a time finding them or having someone make them.

Question 2 any info on that at all?

So with all that should I do an Ivory handle in one section and pay the money for it, or a 3 section with the super sweet ring work?

I had and idea for a really nice build but my good friend told me I was dreaming I did not tell him about this idea he would say I'm really nuts and dreaming! But I value every word he has said to me.
 
Use epoxy on the stones
Get the correct denomination size gold coins for rings!(see goldline.com)

Another way to go on the stones is casting resin. It shrinks less than 5 min. epoxy and can be found at a local craft store.

the best way to keep the stones in, is glue them into the wood and put the finish over the top, if you want the stones unfinished use a jewelers bezel in the wood then set the stones in the bezel.

For gold rings you are about to spend a fortune if you go with discs and drill them out. If you plan to lay some inlays over the gold ring work you could buy some flat rectangle gold wire and wrap it around and cover the seam with an inlay.

I would make the Ivory handle in sections and step the size of the wood core for each section to keep the weight down.

Use Epoxy to glue the gems in with the top just below the surface of the cue and fill in over them with finish. Don't try using glue over them just use finish. Your gems will look better if you paint the back side of them with silver leaf before installing them. This allows the faucets to reflect the light back. Otherwise they often just like like pieces of glass with no sparkle or brilliance.

Well I have to say thank you for all the information. I know this is going to take a ton for time to build but I have a lot of it and I want this to be the best I can do.

I know I am a new cue builder and I have paid my way into this art, burned up a lot of wood and made some costly mistakes with ivory got the wrong tools and just did not know what the heck I was doing. Over the last 2 years I have had some chats with some extremely informational builders got some great advice and help and made made some outstanding friends that needed help I got them! I know I can do this and I love it very much to build!

14k gold in cues

i had a piece of really old brazilian rosewood and wanted top do something special and decided on a solid 14k gold joint.
i made one and it only cost $1865.00
