Francisco Bustamante vs. Jayson Shaw

Well I just watched my first rack, and Busty's CB had outside spin on every shot... What happened to Mr. CJ's claims... rolls eyes, LOL :rolleyes:

I think you're definitely not watching closely. Bustamante notoriously starts on the same side of the cue ball regardless of the shot. It doesn't matter if it's inside or outside english. He always starts on the same side. Not one person who has paid any attention to him over the years will disagree.

Dry break, well-played safe by J. Luxury enters chat room and Busty immediately makes a great kick. But hangs the 1. But shape on the 2 is funny.

Wow, he cuts the 2 in when it's on the first diamond of the head rail. Somehow scratches in the side from that. Obscene roll.

Busty gets out with ball in hand. 15-13.

Lmao, don't you know he's actually using a touch of inside to aim, then pivoting to outside? Even when you use outside english it's inside english. Ditto for center ball.

Please finish ALL your kool-aide, buddy, every last drop. You're obviously not getting with the TOI program.

-roger ( indeed.)

Busty's break rock solid but dry anyway. Cue ball in the center, 1 hanging near corner, everything open.

Shaw takes the easy way out... 1, 2, 3-10 combo. KAPOW.

14-15 (busty up)

I was only referring to the spin the CB had on it after the stroke. Seen by the dots on the measles ball. Nothing to do with his particular stroking technique.

Gotcha. But TOI is an aiming technique for what I'll call stunning shots since anyone who's watched CJ stuns balls in more than the typical professional 9-baller. When CJ needs to put outside, he pivots. That's pretty consistent with Francisco as well (that is to say, Francisco has his own aiming mechanism that seems unrelated to his striking in the end).

I can't remember if I had a bet on this match or not, I think Jumping gave me like 300:1 odds.... Where is Jumpin? :D

argh, the virus has infected this thread.

Shaw makes one but it's not the one you're supposed to make. Stuck to head rail with a homely shot at the 1 ball.

Does a simple bunt safe that works great. Busty can kick off a rail just inches from the cue ball, but opts to curve into the more distant rail. Seems to pay off for him.

Jayson safes again and it's even more solid than the last one. Busty forced to go 3 rails and whiffs.

We're looking at 15-15, he's making the out look quite routine. Yup, smooth sailing.

Anyone know if Busti is living in the states now? I think someone on AZ mentioned he was a few weeks back, but no idea if true.

dag, another dry break. Where's Paul Schofield?

Francisco making this out look hard. plays nice shape on a funny 4 ball. 4,5, and 8 all lying in a row on the same rail. Makes a great shot with bump shape to get on his 5, then completely throws it into reverse and hooks himself behind the 7.

The chalk is currently paying for his error.

Does a traditional filipino style kick, separating the balls completely and leaving nothing but an ugly full table bank.

Jay's safe is a nice effort... max distance, stuck to the rail, but lets busty see the ball barely. Busty doesn't like it.

Fires anyway, looked great, but WOBBLE WOBBLE. Sold out. No excuse not to close this one out. And J does.

16-15.

J has to kick his 1 ball but he's inches from it, can easily do a stop-shot kick and hook busty. Instead pushes and ruins the 3 ball so it has no home.

Bustry tries a safe, maybe looking to tuck it behind the 3, but it goes wide and leaves a look at the 1. 3 still ugly, but he can cut the 1 and try to run into it. He's thinking hard cuz it's haphazard. Can scratch. Goes for it, doesn't scratch, makes the 2... gets on the 3! Nice. A little tough, must zigzag to the 4.

Aaaaaand miss.

Man, busty also making unforced errors. Sinks the 3 in the side, runs into a ball that everyone saw coming, gets hooked. The shaft must pay. Busty kicks and leaves shaw long but hanging near the hole. Executes beautifully and Shaw is outttt.

Or is he? A little awkward on the 6. Gotta go up and down the whole table. Underestimates the speed and gets almost stuck on the foot rail instead of bouncing off a foot or two. Cutting the ball thin into the side. We know it's possible cuz he scratched from this angle earlier lol.

Opts to go with the corner. A smarter shot but it's still ten miles away. Miss.

Busty out, 16-16.
