Francisco Bustamante vs. Jayson Shaw

Busty has to have hit at least 30 mph on that last break. Still dry. 1-10 carom is almost on, shaw swings at it but no good.

The 10 is the only ball on the right half of the table. This layout is not exactly a ripe peach. Busty plays shape for the 2-10, but misses badly. Still a lot of work and the first shot is treetopped.

Oh man, bobbles and hangs at 2 mph.

Busty must move across the whole table, and the 3 is surrounded by traffic, but gets perfect on it and just a foot away. Doesn't get great on the 4 though, he's on the 50 yard line.

Make the tough slice, zigzags to the 5-8 combo. AghHHhh. Miss. Busty may eventually need a new stick. He's using percussive maintenance.
Both players will make a series of great shots and then just... miss.

Jayson may or may not be out with 5 spread out balls. Yup, he's out.
 
RUH OH. Busty absolutely locks the cue ball down, and leaves the 1 glued to the 10. If shaw misses the kick it's GG. He should honestly try to blast 'em apart with an intentional.

Kicks 3 rails, misses the 1 but is close enough to hit the 10. So busty has to work for his out.

Busty plays shape to a 4 in a narrow window. Gets on it but is dead straight near a rail. Looking at playing tiny window shape again. Draws back exactly just right... wow... gets the window.

WOW. Drills it in, with high inside, drifts across the table to bump the 8 square and get nicely on the 7 in the corner. No accident. Turns an ugly mess into a simple out from her.

17-17. Race to 4 for all the cheese!
 
Busty's playing 1 in the side for his break, seems like half the time he's playing that and half the time it's a traditional 2nd-row-in-the-side break.

Makes the 1 in the wrong hole, nothing at all on the 2, pushes. Jayson does a straightforward safe leaving the balls on opposide side rails, with a blocker in between.

Busty gets the hit as expected and leaves distance. It's like a spot shot on steroids.

Miss, doesn't get safe. Busty's shot is a little missable, and he does miss. I think he was playing 'bump shape' and had to spin it a little.

Left J a look at the 2, had to gently swerve around another ball, makes it and is running out. Tries a brave shot spinning 3 rails into a 6-8 cluster on the rail. If it works out he has shape on the 5, maybe. But misses the cluster, leaves a horrible shot at the 5.

Makes it anyway! and breaks out the cluster! and dogs the 6!
Lol, that's been the story of this match.

Busty takes the gift and gets out. 18-17 busty.
 
Busty breaks so nice and square and hard... yells at the ball that's trying to block his view of the 1. "HEY! HEEEYYYYOOOONO."

It barely does, and busty tries the shot anyway and barely misses. Leaves a hanger, inches from the cue ball.

2-10 is on.

Jayson gets nice on it, calls it... and.... 18-18

Dora has made her line :) Jayson additionally hit 'em really nice, almost jumping off the table but not. Ugly shot on the 1 and makes it.

Room is very quiet. Jayson is starting to run out but not quite perfectly in line yet.
Actually nevermind, he's perfect from here.

He's got a thinker... he can go up and down from the 8 to the 9, or try to hold it.
Gets nice on the 9 and gets out.

J's really straining on his breaks. His cue ball is not squatting really. Ending up with cue ball in rack, 1 stuck to head rail.

Tried a long hero safety and got distance+stuck to rail again, but busty has a full ball.

Busty is too straight to just shoot it so he banks it, misses, leaves a long but makeable shot.

This is the kind of shot J seemed to rocket in, in practice. He seems to overthink this one though and misses. Sells out an awkward stretch shot where busty will run into the 2. Which happens and there's no great reward. The 2 drifts out too far to cut. So it's a bank and... well, busty can bank.

In line and running out smoothly now.

Doesn't like his 6 ball and gets a little 50 yarder on the 7. Should be ok though? Actually from this camera angle it looks really tough in side or corner. He opts for side.

"ONETIME", busty shows some spirit :D

Beautiful perfect inside+draw shot on the 8 to get just right on the 9. Straight in on the 10. Drills it.

19-19! Crowd loving it.

Good strong break, long shot down the rail for the 3. Very missable. Some jackoff in the crowd tries to shark busty with a loud thump noise when he's about to pull the trigger. Busty stands up, looks around, scowls, wipes down his cue, then walks back up and makes the shot. Stays right in line the whole time, never looks like missing.

LOL he got 'touch' angle on the 9, and does a delicate stun/sidespin shot to come out 2 rails.... he hits it, thought he hit it bad, "GET IN!" and steers violently with his cue.

Seemed to go right into the heart lol, nerves??

oh heartbreaker. Busty breaks hard and hangs the 10. I saw him make it in the corner in practice. No magic rack = the ten can move.

Jay is faced with an UGLY 45 degree cut down 7 feet of rail. Hangs it up. So busty can just do 1, 2, 3-10 combo.

Even I couldn't screw this up. I think.
Busty thinking hard though for some reason. Doesn't like his angle on the 2? Or just being triple cautious. Yeah, he didn't have much angle. Pounds it off the rail, calls the 10. You can thin cut it or carom it. It should be easy but I'd be scared.

IT'S IN.
