I have everything but a taper setup. I have a few pieces but looking for the rest. PM me with what you have and I will send pictures of my setup. Thanks for looking.

I guess you missed CuePorns thread and pics of the lathe and taper bar set up he built.

He is also selling his left over 8020 etc. If he has any left, you could build your own for much cheaper than buying it.

Pretty sporty set up he did. All you have to do is see the couple of pictures that he posted of it.

Lathe pics.

After looking at the pics, if this is something that you would like, I would suggest you pm him and see if he has any 2080 left.
Its by far, the easiest and nicest looking taper bar mount you will ever get.

I bought enuff for my newest lathe. He is a good guy and would most likely walk you thru it.

Thanks for the post and adviced. Unfortunately I am mechanically challenged and have a hard enough time assembling my kids toys, let alone a precision piece of equipment. :help:

Then how are you going to build pool cues? To me building equipment is part of the trade..

Jay is pretty much correct on this one Pal. You don't have to be an engineer to operate a lathe but it helps that you can tinker a bit. I can understand that a person could be a good wood worker and yet get lost with mechanical issues.

After looking at Cue Porns taper set up, the least you could do is buy the 8020 and have a machine shop put it together for you.
I don't have a mill myself so other than cutting the 8020, I am going to have to get a machinist to do a bit of drilling and tapping for me also. No biggy.

The actual taper bars made of Delrin are available thru a couple of people and suppliers. Chris Hightower and Unique.

Not that I can speak for Cue Porns time available or anything but if you got a hold of him, he may build you a set up for a price. I take it that is what you are looking for, right?

I can tell you that he is a great guy and very helpful.
