Looks like SVB beat Orcollo again in the finals ("again" meaning SVB also beat him in the hot-seat match) to win the 2013 US Bar Table 9-Ball Championship.
Wasn't Shane's B&R percentage in the last TAR over 50%?
Either way, whoever stays at the table the longest will probably be the winner. These guys are both run-out machines, and Dennis' 10-Ball break won't be an excuse, this guy knows how to get shape off the break.
It only makes sense that these two play in the next TAR, I personally think this matchup would have the highest viewership to date.

I think Dennis ran the set out on Jayson Shaw at the Swanee tournament. (or at least put a 6 on him) in the finals.
Yes
No, Chang Jun Lin and Yang Chin Shun play just as good if not better.
t sounds like I'm hearing everybody say that only Dennis can do this or that he is the only one that can run out over and over...., again the American players just dont want it bad enough to put in the work.
This American guy named Corey Deuel was doing this soft break thing about 10 years ago and he was very successful , this bothered people and promoters started specifying that a certain amount of balls had to pass the side pockets towards the head rail.
Nobody had worked as hard as Corey at breaking . Corey seemed to become discouraged and his game fell off .

Okay, time for my two cents. Dennis is winning on a regular basis for a couple of reasons. One he is an extremely talented player who works hard at his PROFESSION! He takes his job seriously, practicing daily for 8-10 hours! He is a dedicated athlete who is highly motivated to be successful. He wants to win and is confident that he can win! Dennis is also a good family man with a beautiful wife and two great kids. Lastly he is a smart pool player, observing what is working for other players and adjusting his game as necessary.
It's no accident Dennis keeps showing up in the finals. He is considered by his peers to be the best player right now, on either side of the Pacific! If there are currently any Asian players (and I said ANY!) who are interested in a Ten Ball match for some serious money, please look me up. It can be arranged! No one from China or Taiwan is barred, NO ONE!!!!
As for the curious thought that Taiwan can come up with a five man team to beat the five best from the Philippines, that's almost laughable. It's a short flight to Manila and if they are interested in sending a five man team to play a five man Philippine team, again for some real money, please let me know. I would be more than happy to put that one together. Say 50K per team.
Some people on here talk to just to make noise I think. I will put money behind any conversation I engage in here.
I'm thinking Dennis, Francisco, Alex, Lee Vann and Carlo Biado. Let's see who Taiwan wants to send to play these five guys. Again, please let me know asap. I'm heading that way in April and I can get the money together if they want to send a player to challenge Dennis or a team to play five on five. I think it would be a great match and I look forward to playing a part in making it happen. We're ready if you are.
that would be great to see
how good is Feliciano? Seems he can play with anybody. Seems like Alcano could also be subbed in with no drop off as well
Yang, Wu, Chao and Chang have also been to USA to try their luck in the American tournaments and never even came close to winning any tournament they joined in. They hardly made a dent. ...
Chao Fong-pang has won the International Challenge of Champions (an invitational event) three times.
how come Ronnies game has dropped some, he was on top a while back?

It's a fine line between being on top and being just another good player. It takes hard work and dedication to get to the top and stay there. Right now, Dennis has it!
Jay, one question... You like lee vann and biado over alcano??? I know they're both killers... I've seen ronnie finish runner up twice at the open and felt this was his year...
This 5 on 5 would make one hell of a sweat btw....
I'll take a shot with their 5....
Yang
Chang
Ko Pin Yi
He Wen Li
Yukio
Subs Fu/Wu

Pinoys on the other hand have been successful not only in Asia but anywhere they go. That is the main difference between the Filipinos and the other top asian players. Kudos to Dennis Orcullo right now who I think have even gotten better. If Yang and Dennis face each other right now, I think Dennis would win.

Now that's not fair!!! u just put a 5-man player from 3 different countries with a combined population of 2 billion!!! why not put SVB right there while we're at it
Chang came to the US last year and got 7/8th on his first and only attempt at the US Open. That's quite a bit more than a dent. How well did Dennis do on his first try here?
Wu came over to the US once as well and played in an IPT tournament or two, but I don't think he played in much else.
Has Yang ever actually come to the US? I'm not sure if he has.
Did Chao ever play anything in the US besides the Challenge of Champions, which he won a bunch of times?
In any case, there is a long list of players besides those mentioned that play just as good and have the tournament wins to prove it. The fact that they have never been to the US only means that US players aren't really exposed to how they really play. Frankly, they just miss less than every one. Especially Chang.
If you are that sure of the dominance of the Filipinos, why don't you send them to Taiwan? Barking about putting up $50k to send a group of players to another group of players' home country is hardly a fair bet considering the Taiwanese will have to deal with the home court advantage (humidity in the PI is not a small factor, not to mention the Filipino railbirds aren't exactly neutral) and travel costs among other things.
As far as I am concerned, saying that you will put up $50k is just an evasion of the argument because you know that A) nobody will put up $50k over an internet post, B) even if they do, the match will be a coin-flip, and C) you are giving yourself home court advantage by stipulating that the match will be in the PI. Overall it proves nothing save for the fact that you aren't willing to make a fair game and you are trying to put bravado over the importance of discussion.
Also, no one said that the 5 man team from Taiwan would beat the 5 man team from the Philippines. It would be a coin-flip possibly slightly in favor of one team or the other depending on the venue.
Indeed he did, although Jay also placed a Canadian on his team. Li, Akagariyama, and Alex can all be replaced by other players without significant loss of quality of play on either side.
