I gave myself a Corneal Abasion to my right eye yesterday. It's free of pain with the patch on but I'm going to give it another day just to be safe. I don't want to feel that pain again anytime soon.

Went out on my table today just to see how I shoot with one eye. Shots I had to cut to the right I cut too thin and missed two ob's completly from 6'.. Cutting to the left I got too much of the ob. I know I haven't played for 5 months but my PSR has always been good. My routine is to exact mirror CJ's. It was weird. Johnnyt
 
For shooting with a patch over one eye, just try putting the other eye directly over the stick. You may be surprised at how accurately you can pot balls, but your position play may suffer a bit from reduced depth perception (vs. using two eyes).

I may give that a try. The vision in my right (dominant) eye has gotten so bad it's become more of a hindrance than a help. I've experimented with just closing it for certain shots, but I think I may need to make more of a commitment to the one-eye thing. Besides, it would be way cool shooting pool while looking like a pirate.

Anyone know if Hustlin' makes a puffy shirt?

Fro mwhat I have heard from players that had lost an eye it is almost like it takes time for the brain to adjust to just one eye.
That eye you are looking through is still trying to work like the dominant eye or the non dominant eye whichever it is.

It is still trying to be in the same position that is was before.

You have to move it over to the center of the balls to envision as good as you can and then it will take time.

It's like your brain has to rewire itself to the one eye situation.

Sounds like you won't have to keep it this way for too long. A day or 2 is not long enough for this rewiring to run it's course.

Good luck with that eye. Good thing we got 2 but we need to keep them both if we can.

LOL. I thought of you while I was shooting. I kept thinking, "what would Geno do here." Johnnyt
 
Take care of that eye Johnny! I am a plumber and have had a few issues like yours! one time I had my head in a cement mixer cleaning it, and my idiot cousin hit it with a hammer!

Took 3 hours at the emergency room to clean it all out!.....

My neighbor was a cement finisher. He scratched his cornea badly trying to wipe stinging sweat from his eye with the back of his hand. There was dried crusted cement on the back of his hand. Occupational hazard. So too, is wearing out the the driver seat of his work pickup from dried cement on his pants from wiping his hands on the back of his pants.

Good luck with your eye Johnny. I hope it gets better soon.
 
I'm surprised, Johnny, that the doctor didn't patch both eyes in order to eliminate any movement that might further injure your eye.
By-the-way, I once knew a girl in Panama who had a glass eye. She would take it our every time we had sex.
When I would get ready to leave she would always say. "The next time you're in town I'll keep an eye out for you." :smile:
